Our mission is to equip women with the knowledge and skills they need to *earn* leadership roles, especially at the top of organizations. Put another way, we help organizations ensure their team members are focused and delivering on the outcomes that matter most to the business. We do this through cultivating Business, Strategic, and Financial Acumen.

It is these areas of leadership where research shows women are consistently under-mentored and under-guided. And it is business, strategic, and financial acumen that is weighted twice as heavily as other aspects of leadership (versus charisma, communications, team-building, etc.) in a person's candidacy for leading businesses at the highest ranks.

Are you ready to invest in your career or your company's female talent pipeline? The Lead to Soar team is here to help.

Please stop being baffled about the leadership gender gap

Please stop being baffled about the leadership gender gap

Lead to Soar! is a production of A Career that Soars
Recent research tells us (again) that women outperform men on a range of different leadership metrics. That same research informs us that leaders are baffled that, given how competent women are, there are more of us at the top of organizations. Well, we want you to stop your bafflement about the leadership gender gap. It might be an okay place to start, but leaders must move on from admiring the problem and start taking action. And that does not mean enrolling all your workers in unconscious bias training! In this episode, Mel Butcher and Michelle Redfern call on leaders to take deliberate action to change the playing field to support their female talent pipeline.

My mission is simple… to create an on-going dialogue and affect change related to previously thought of as “taboo” topics for the workplace (like bullying, racism, good old boys’ clubs, brilliant a**holes, and more) that often marginalize, harm & oppress Women, BIPOC and LGBTQIA+ employees.
Companies all over the world hire my successful 'People Firm' to aid with: Business Strategy & Executive Team Building, Board Facilitator, HR & DEIB Consulting, C-Level Coaching & Executive Brand Management, to Speak at Events (virtual and live), to help them find the right executives for their organizations and, to change their business through people.
I hold several certifications, including Predictive Index, DiSC, Dale Carnegie, Franklin Covey, Meyers-Briggs and more. I also have my BBA in Marketing, an MS in Organizational Leadership, and 2nd MS in Psychology.

Yes, successful women 'play politics' at work.

Lead to Soar! is a production of A Career that Soars
In this episode, Mel and Michelle discuss why politics at work need to be rebadged and rethought by women who want a career that soars. Politics, when viewed through the lens of our 3-part leadership definition, is engaging the greatness in others and aligning them towards to strategic and financial goals of the organization.  Furthermore, women are rated by bosses as having superior EQ and engagement skills. We discuss how leveraging those skills, strategically and authentically is part of the successful woman's career toolkit.

Why Work Life Balance is BS!

Why Work Life Balance is BS!

Get Sh*t Done! (GSD!) are Lead to Soar's short, snappy, roughly ~10 minute mini-episodes to bring you a quick fix of career advice.
Mel and Michelle discuss why work-life balance is b******t! Especially for women. They recommend that listeners challenge the notion of a two-dimensional existence (eg: work + life) and instead, consider striving for harmony where all the aspects of a person's life - family, interests, passion projects, and work can be integrated. Michelle also challenges the Patriarchy which assumes that women are still responsible for "balancing"  their career with the "3 C's" (cooking, cleaning, and caring).
