I'm a 40 something year old man who has always had a passion for stand up comedy and a complete dread of public speaking. When my marriage ended, I decided to take control of my life back and pursue my long time dream of being a stand-up comedian. I'm 20 years older than the average starting comedian, but I'm 20 years more cynical too. This podcast will be an honest and at times brutal look into my new venture in stand up comedy while balancing a kid, a career, and a struggle with depression. Laugh at me, cheer me on, but follow my story as I reinvent myself.

    I did a set

    It's been awhile since I've updated. I won't spoil/rewrite my reasons for that, just know that I'm at heart, a deeply flawed individual. Last September I wrote and performed a stand up act--or part of one. Since then I've gone through a lot emotionally and until today, I couldn't even bring myself to listen to it. I cringed as I pushed play...which is crazy because I know that I shouldn't expect to do well my first time up.  I can't say what finally motivated me to publish this. But I think it has a lot to do with the fact that it keeps crying out to me as an unfinished commitment. I really appreciate you listening and I have every intention of following through with this. Stay safe and always look for the funny.

    LTSU Back to School

    I started my Stand Up Comedy 101 Class yesterday and I'm here with Shakara Robinson to talk about how it went. As an introductory class there's a lot of planning and less doing, but I got some remedial mic time. I'd also like to introduce you to the "To:MOM" Podcast.     LTSU Episode 1

    I start my comedy endeavor in earnest in just a few days. I wanted to get the ball rolling with a bit of an introduction to who I am. And because I care about your time, I didn't want to subject you to too much of me alone, so I invited a good friend, Shakara Robinson, to interview me. Shakara has been my friend for a few years and has been aware of some of my plans but there's a lot that I don't share willingly with anyone. I gave her carte blanche to ask anything about me, my life and my interest in stand up. This is just an introduction, there will be more insights to come, preferably over a long and exciting endeavor. Thanks for listening.
