156 episodes

One of our guests suggested we change the name of the show to more accurately convey what it is we do. Her suggestion was "Four People Talking at a Table". That does pretty much sum it up!

Legacy Matters has proven that conversations are still important. On our show, we the hosts do no research on the guests we invite to be a part of our show. Every two weeks we sit down with a stranger and learn their story. We ask questions, sometimes serious and sometimes silly, as we get to know these strangers and start down the road to friendship.

Everyone has a legacy! Join Sam, Marc and Kate every two weeks for another amazing episode of Legacy Matters!

    Chris MacLeod: Laune Bread

Chris MacLeod of Laune Bread in Minneapolis joins us to talk about how crappy Wonder bread is and how nothing works when people eat that stuff. I think that is what we talked about anyway. You know the truth, show notes are weird and I hope my boss fires me for not knowing what to write.

    Jen Gilhoi: SoberNotSomber

    Jen Gilhoi: SoberNotSomber

Jen Gilhoi joined us for a show in the comedy basement and while we had a beer, she did not. And you know what? It was fun all around! Jen has built a life around showing people that sobriety doesn't mean the end of fun- in case that is what you think might happen. By talking about alcohol and sobriety in different ways, Jen is helping to normalize these conversations and allowing us to see things in a new light.
She's also into sauna- which has become a real theme lately! Check out Sauna Times and listen to our interview with Glenn!
    From her site-
Jen Gilhoi, event experience strategist and founder of Sparktrack, is fascinated with the art of gathering. She especially loves lingering behind and reliving moments others have long since moved on from. In 2014, she moved on from active addiction and began a sober lifestyle. And in recent years, supported by the community of women writers at ModernWell in Minneapolis (We interviewed Julie Burton, the founder), MN, she courageously began exploring memoir to work through past traumas.
As an introvert and moderate empath (discovered upon completion of the quiz in Sensitive is the New Strong), she’s discovered that the written word is her avenue to invite others into inquiry and shatter stigmas around addiction. To further that passion, she’s a Dissonance board member, an organization that promotes mental health and recovery in and through the arts. And because the wellness and sobriety journey is not just about not drinking – it’s about living live to the fullest – she also writes about wellness-related products, services and experiences.

    Lance Asher: Green Elevator Cannabis

    Lance Asher: Green Elevator Cannabis

Lance Asher, founder of Green Elevator Cannabis, descends into our basement studio at The Comedy Corner Underground to share a little bit about his life and to share a lotta bit about the current state of Cannabis in Minnesota. During this time of changing attitudes and changing legislation, it is good to hear from someone who really has a deep understanding of where things are and where they are headed- or at least some thoughts about where things are headed.

Keep em coming

I enjoy how you get to know what your guests do but most of the conversation revolves around who your guests are and how you all relate to each other. You all seem genuinely interested in visiting and not putting any one person on the spot. Humanity feels pretty good listening to you all visit. Thank you for creating these!

Good Company

This balanced, death positive conversation made for excellent company during my afternoon run. I am really enjoying this podcast, loving how it highlights local entrepreneurs, and looking forward to the next guest!
