We are three best friends from the small city of Sacramento, transitioning from our lively, young adolescent lives to the scary, adult world. We are originally a blog that focuses on topics guiding college students or young adults in their transition from high school. We write our personal experiences in hopes of inspiring our readers who are navigating the day-to-day obstacles of adulthood. We chose to do a podcast because we have always loved getting together and having deep conversations.

    Part-Time Jobs: The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly

    For this episode, we're going all the way back when we were still teenagers and beginning to step into the world of part-time jobs. From working overtime to handling strict bosses, these experiences has showed us some tough love when it comes to earning money and gaining independence. We'll go over how we encountered our first job interviews, what types of challenges that we faced, and how we overcame some of our embarrassing hiccups along the way.     Understanding and Supporting the Black Lives Matter Movement

    Hello Everyone! The Leizy team got together mid-June and sparked a conversation amongst each other about the Black Lives Matter Movement. We talked about our first impressions of the movement, ways we have tried to become an ally, new information that we learned, and some of the challenges that we faced while confronting this topic.     Dealing with (Sk)Insecurities

    Welcome to our very first podcast! In this podcast, we touch on the concept of skincare. It is definitely a roller coaster journey that all three of us have been navigating as early as middle school. We discuss how we define skincare (does it actually require 10 steps?), share our personal skincare journeys (battling with oiliness, flakiness, you name it!), explain how we currently take care of our skin, and break down tips that we have learned along the way. We hope this guides as both an informative and entertaining topic for you all to listen to!

    Surviving the Competitive Environment: High School v. College

    For this podcast episode, we dive into our experiences of dealing with academic competitiveness. We first go back in time to the dark days of high school where we went through an honors program, called the International Baccalaureate (IB), which fostered a rigorous, and sometimes cut-throat, school environment. We discuss our impressions and misconceptions of IB, our insecurities regarding our academics, and what we did to push forward. Most importantly, we touch on how these humbling experiences ultimately helped us to take on the competitive nature in college. Whether it is high school or college, the competitive environment can be quite scary to navigate, but we hope our listeners can connect with these experiences and know that you're not alone. In the end, what doesn't kill you makes you stronger, right?
