A conversation with one of Utah’s most amazing entrepreneurial Homies, Johnny Hanna

Johnny Hanna is one of the Co-Founders of Homie. If you’ve driven on I-15 in Utah, you can’t miss their witty billboards. Homie's mission is to simplify home buying and selling with a one-stop-shop experience with Homie Real Estate, Homie Loans, Homie Title, and Homie Insurance. He helped the company grow to over $100 million in annual revenue.
Johnny and his wife, Paige, have 7 boys, 1 little girl, and two dogs. Johnny graduated from BYU-Idaho as part of its first graduating class.
In this podcast we talk about some of the worst lemons Johnny has been dealt, and how he has been able to turn those lemons into lemonade. He also talks about the pain of needing to lay off people at Homie, his journey with mental health - how it’s intersected with business, and his thoughts on building and maintaining a successful company culture.

Dirty Dough’s Bennett Maxwell on #UtahCookieWars

Bennett Maxwell started as an investor in Dirty Dough before buying the cookie company right in the middle of a pandemic. Since then, he’s taken the company from a small cookie-making endeavor to a massive nation-wide operation. However, the rise to success hasn’t been easy as Bennett’s team has been fighting an unexpected lawsuit from a “Big Cookie Co” that has started the #UtahCookieWars trend.

In this podcast, we talk about how he’s forged ahead to create some of the most viral and funny commercials you’ve ever seen and expanded the business to over 200 franchise locations… all while using his success as a vehicle to fulfill his vision of opening up mental health wellness centers for children.

    Hope you enjoy this episode!

Bryan Rowland, of Maximum Effort, talks about the Imposter Syndrome of his life

Bryan Rowland, of Maximum Effort, talks about the Imposter Syndrome of his life

Bryan Rowland is one of my favorites. We have been buddies for about 7 years or so now, and it’s incredible to see where his journey has taken him. In 2008, after being laid off and not knowing how to support his family, he picked up a Canon 5d Mark 2 and hit the pavement. Calling everyone he knew, he ended up doing a campaign that taught him the power of telling stories. I won’t spoil it for you on how he got there, but he is now working side by side with Ryan Reynolds, shooting, directing, and editing all of his commercials. It’s been such a wild ride, and although he doesn’t fully know where he is transitioning to next, there are some big things in the works. This podcast has been a long time coming and I’m super excited to share this with you all. Enjoy!

Chad Willardson helps give rise to financial gurus, one child at a time

Chad Willardson is a fan favorite here at Lemonade Stand. This is his 2nd appearance with us. Being an epic financial guru, he has now come up with an incredible app to teach kids how to have the proper mindset to become financial gurus themselves. Gravy Stack will be launching either the end of the year or the beginning of next year, and he already has thousands of families on as beta testers. Chad is an incredibly cool guy and his insights are equally as incredible. Such a blast having him on again. Enjoy!

Raquel Baldwin, Exec Team Member of Chamber Media talks about the gift of gratitude

Raquel Baldwin, Exec Team Member of Chamber Media talks about the gift of gratitude

Does life just magically work out for those that have a plethora of gratitude in their heart? Raquel's life certainly seems to indicate that. Growing up in Iowa, with very limited financial resources, Raquel set out to follow her dreams of being an epic dancer at a young age. Her dad supported her incredible dreams and she started teaching at a studio at age 14. She moved to NYC, worked on some amazing plays, became a Knicks dancer, and has had an incredible amazing life. She credits all of her blessings to her relationship with God, and showers Him with praise wherever she goes. Despite challenges she has faced, she has an incredibly positive outlook on life. And things just seem to magically go well for her. When things don't work out, she has ability to let them go and look forward to the next amazing thing. This attitude of constantly being able to let things go while moving forward has helped her to achieve so many amazing things in life. She is currently at Chamber Media, producing and directing hilarious commercials. Her joy is completely infectious and it's been such a blast getting to know her more and jamming out with her on this podcast. Enjoy!

Fantastic podcast

I finish each episode more inspired and grateful for my life than before. Charan is such a sweet guy, and I love his insightful questions. His guests are consistently interesting people with amazing stories to tell and experiences to share. I especially recommend the Cinema Therapy and Will Beck episodes. Here’s to many more episodes to come!

Amazing, inspiring podcast

Charan is a wonderful host of this amazing podcast. Each week I am inspired to be greater and do better as I listen to it on my drive to work. I’ve discovered a few of my personal heroes thanks to this podcast. Crazy that such wonderful people might be brushing past you in the street or living right next door to you! Love this!

Genuine show telling the stories the world needs to hear more of

I love this podcast for 2 reasons:

1st - Charan Prabhakar is an excellent host - he asks great questions, focuses on the guest and doesn’t overwhelm the show with his own thoughts - rather he highlights what the guest brings to the show.

2nd - The stories that are shared are truly good and inspiring episodes, I always leave uplifted, hopeful, and motivated.

In a world full of podcasts, this one rises above the rest.
