    overconsumption in creativity, scarcity mindset + learning to value what you have over what you want

    WE DID IT! This is officially the last episode of Season 1 of Lessons in Creativity! **For those watching, I apologize for my camera being out of focus half way through the video, ahh! -- Alas...we move.** I filmed this video towards the end of 2024, when I was thinking a lot about how and where I was spending my money when it came to my creativity and how overconsumption was holding me back. Today’s episode is about the effect of overconsumption on our creativity. It’s important to be mindful of the ways we invest in our creativity and how we are often told that we need more than we actually do to create. Being intentional is a huge part of valuing our creativity in ways that are sustainable and attainable.     This is the reality of bouncing back after losing creative momentum.

    Consistency as we have learned it, is not sustainable.

    Consistency caught up to me..I had to take a short break from the podcast but I’m back with a special episode that I believe is right on time.  I think one of the biggest hurdles that creatives have to jump over along the creative journey is consistency. It’s something that has been simplified and broken down to a science but I still think all social media gurus forget the “human” aspect of the process as well.  Consistency as we have learned it, is not sustainable. However we can make it work for us.  In this episode we will talk about: Redefining Consistency: Finding a flow and pace that works for you and your individual lifestyle & redefining what consistency looks like in your life.  Momentum vs Consistency: The importance of momentum in getting started & how momentum sets us up to be consistent.  Staying the Course: Momentum is a season, the importance of rest, & unlearning toxic productivity and hustle culture whilst navigating consistency in your creativity.  Thank you for being here!     the keys to a balanced life as a full time content creator with a 9-5

    My creative journey has not been linear. It’s been full of ups and downs and plenty of lessons learned. We don't talk enough about the anxiety that comes with leaping into your passions. There are so many things I had to learn and unlearn along the way. I’ve come to realize that “creating the life” that I want to live doesn’t always have to be a leap. A small movement towards your passions can be just as powerful as jumping in head first.  In this episode, we will discuss the mindset shift to developing a creative lifestyle and balancing content creation + a corporate job. I hope that me sharing my freelance journey helps you to feel less alone in yours.     feeling stuck in life + creating through grief

    Today’s episode is about feeling stuck in life and grieving different parts of yourself while trying to create. This was a very vulnerable episode to film. Over the past few weeks I’ve been truly understanding how my grief has manifested into a serious creative rut. It’s forced me to acknowledge the parts of myself that aren’t exactly caught up to my current timeline. To realize that I’m still operating on thoughts and feelings of the past because I hadn’t addressed them…is such an eye opening experience. However, I’m learning how to release and exist beyond the grief I’m processing.
