In this podcast, hosted by the EUR student psychologists, Sara, and Alex, we try to shine a light on student struggles, give tips on mental wellbeing and create a close-knit community. In these unfiltered conversations we talk to experts and students alike, discussing a diverse array of topics among which pressure, loneliness, and substance (ab)use.

    New Beginnings

    In this episode, we explore what it’s really like to start university. From moving to a new city and meeting new people to navigating newfound independence and academic expectations. We compare what incoming students expect university to be like with the reality experienced by students who have been here for a while. Together with Positive Psychologist and Student Life Liaison Dito Boerema, we discuss finding your people, balancing your studies with social life and rest, and giving yourself time to adjust. This episode is a reminder that university doesn’t always look the way you imagined—and that’s okay. Everyone starts somewhere, and there are many different ways to find your place.

    No One Knows

    In this episode, we explore the hidden challenges of studying with a disability — especially when that disability isn’t immediately visible. From ADHD and autism to chronic illness and mental health struggles, invisible disabilities can lead to feelings of shame, isolation, and misunderstanding. Together with student counsellor Joelle Schut, we dive into the personal and emotional experiences of navigating student life with a disability. You’ll also hear soundbites from students who open up about their own journeys, offering insight and encouragement. We discuss how to recognize invisible barriers, what real inclusion looks like, and how fellow students can be more mindful and supportive. You're not alone — and this episode is here to remind you of that.
