    TODAY'S SHOW: When we launch something as business owners, we often think (sometimes misguidedly) that if we are excited about our offer, product, or service… everyone else will be. In reality, this may not be true. And before we get overly enthused with our next “grand idea that will 100% take off” ( be it a start up idea, new revenue stream in an existing business, or new culture roll out in the company ) we want to cross check our billion dollar idea with the REALITY of the market. In this episode, we shed light on the smart way to test your next grand idea with three key groups: 1) YOU. As the founder, business owner, or leader of course your idea and creation matters. You have a unique perspective that no one else would have, and this is something you shouldn’t discount.2) The Broader Market: Talking to this group saves you all the hassle of launching, and re-looked at the core offer before the grand opening… saving not only time, money, but also confidence and opportunity cost.3) The Beta Market: Even if the broader market overwhelmingly agrees that your business idea is good, it doesn't mean your specific iteration of that is good.     TODAY'S SHOW: If businesses were really making money, they wouldn’t really need to be selling everyday, right? WRONG. Very wrong, in fact. In this episode, we ditch this limiting misconception and confront the REAL truth: 1)The best time to sell is actually when you don’t need to.Take a look around you and you will see that the biggest brands sell everyday, and they sell it proud … case in point: Coca Cola, Sephora, LVMH. Smart business owners know that building brand equity, brand awareness and a customer awareness shouldn’t be done as a “last ditch save” but rather an asset that works to compound the work you do, even when you're already thriving. 2)Selling everyday =/= Non-ProfitabilityClearly, selling everyday does not mean lack of profitability - far from it. Creating seasons in sales cycles and leveraging festivities to sell daily and sell often not only incentivises new clients to be working with you but also confirms to your existing audience that they are making the right choice sticking with you. In other words… it captures new target market and increases client stickiness. 3)Contrary to popular belief, we actually like being sold to. Case in point: Apple fans love it when they are informed about the new iPhone launch… in fact not only are they in love with the advertising…they spend thousands, they do FREE advertising for Apple by taking photos at the Apple flagship stores, tagging Apple on social media, and then tell their friends to spend money there too. Absolutely mind-blowing, but that’s the power of a brand done right.
