Ladies night and the vibe is right! We sit down with a few amazing women to have grown women talk, discussing the topic of sex and sexuality and being very transparent on different topics like things we like things we don’t like when it comes to being intimate with a man and even discussing things that we grew up being told it was not ok to do.

Art, culture being a single mom and raising a boy into a young man, we tap in with Shawntay who has been thriving in Sacramento with her art, advocacy of black lives and protesting and how art has been such a big influence for her to share with the world and to hear her discuss the ups and downs and also discussing her heritage of being a African American & Filipino woman. We even tap into the music world of when she had a big crew off women in music promotions, throwing shows as well as discussing the artist she has worked with like the late and great Doey Rock a.k.a Mean Doe Green a.k.a King Kahali and how much his passing was a big impact as Doey was one of her biggest supporters.

This episode I wanted to talk about addiction, a subject that is was a very deep issue for me growing because I grew up with a father that battled alcoholism that ended up taking over his life and ended his life at the young age of 42. This topic is something that I have not been open to talk about but I think we should start acknowledging an issue that runs heavy for many. Maybe my story can reach someone that is battling or recovering or can relate to me a child growing up with a parent battling addiction. Addiction has and is a big problem because so many people deal with trauma, mental illness and the use of drugs and alcohol become their gate way for so many reasons. I pray that this episode finds someone to reach out and get help to change your life.

We always hear about surviving, overcoming and honestly always describing the past from what someone else caused or did, but we never hear or even discuss amongst us where did we F’UP at? Where did we contribute to the situation or situations we ended up in. There is always three parts to a story the beginning the middle and the end… so let’s take a moment to think of where did we go wrong let’s point the finger to our selfs for a moment because it’s important to check ourselves as well.

A special segment that we are collaborating with Evelyn of Essence Meets Hustle to bring to you an artist spot light shinning the light on dope artist from all aspects of different elements of who is an artist. And on this first segment we introduce Brixxis King a Hip Hop artist who started in the game first as a producer who formally just dropped his first album. An artist out of Sacramento California who has a very defined library of influences from different genres of music. Brixxis dropping some gems and leaving us with some bars.

In life we struggle with patience and I always get asked this million dollar question “where do you get your patience from?” And recently I had someone ask me that question and mentioned how strong that word is and how they still struggle with finding patience.” So what better way to help others find methods that will help someone else… let’s build Patience let’s do it together and what better way then to embrace God’s guidance, trust and believing in patience.
