Welcome back to Let's Talk PND and thank you for joining me for season 2! This episode I chat with Gretta, a Mum to 3 boys, Atticus (10yrs), Sharma (5yrs) and Bhodie (12wks). She shares her story about her PND with her first two children, the first going undiagnosed. She gives us some insight into what worked for her, how she managed her mental health and how she is feeling now after only giving birth 12wks ago. Ep 9- Hannah, Arlo & Wilkie

On this episode, I chat with Hannah, a Registered Midwife and Mum to Arlo (2.5yrs) and Wilkie (9mths). Hannah takes us through her experience with postnatal anxiety and intrusive thoughts in her first pregnancy with Arlo and how she managed this in her second pregnancy with Wilkie. She shares some really deep thoughts with us and I am thankful to her for sharing so openly. Ep 8- Abigael & Elliot

On this episode, I chat with Abigael who is a Mum to little Elliot and is also currently 19wks pregnant. Abigael experienced postpartum rage amongst her postpartum journey and struggles with breastfeeding, tongue ties, an emergency caesarean turned vaginal birth and the fears she has around her next birth. Postpartum rage isn't widely spoken about and it is one of the most dangerous postnatal disorders, with a lot of people having fears that they will hurt their baby due to the uncontrollable nature it has. Ep 7- Hana, Ray & Toby

On this episode, I chat with Hana, a Mum of 2 to Ray (4yrs) and Toby (10months). Hana practices as a Professional Witch, Taro and Astrologist. She talks to me about her battle with PND, PNA, OCD and a relapse in an eating disorder, which eventually lead her to be admitted to a Mother & Baby Unit. She also talks about how she developed PTSD from parenting and mentions that her husband was diagnosed with depression, which she believes was PND, after the birth of her second child Toby. Ep 6- Catie, Parker & Hamilton

On this episode, I speak to Catie who is a Mum of 2 to Parker (4yrs) and Hamilton (7months). Catie talks to us about her experience with PND with Parker, which required multiple admissions to the Belmont Private Hospital for treatment for perinatal disorders. After losing her Dad in 2016, she then sadly lost her Mum suddenly just 1 week before she was due to give birth. This was the start of a very stressful postnatal period and Catie was diagnosed with complex grief as well as a new diagnosis of ADHD. I want to thank Catie for sharing this story with us. Such a brave woman who has been through so much and I hope by sharing this, it will form part of her healing journey. Ep 5- Brittany, Harvey and Phoebe

In this episode, I chat with Brittany, a Mum of two, Harvey who is almost 2 and Phoebe who is 8months. She lives and works full-time in childcare in Western Australia and her husband is a FIFO worker. Brittany struggled with PND with Henry and PNA with Phoebe. A lot of what she talks about will resonate so much with you all, I know it did for me. The program that Brittany speaks about is called 'Bouncing Back'. It offers postnatal depression support and treatment for women and their families. Services include postnatal screenings for depression and stress to promote early intervention; treatment and Support Groups for families; referral service; advocacy; psycho-education and referral to suitable supports; community education, talks to antenatal/ postnatal groups increasing awareness. Ep 4- Genna and Henry

On this episode, I talk to Genna. Genna is a Mum to a little boy Henry who is 2yrs old. Genna takes us through her birth story and how she developed PTSD from her birth. She reports being triggered by the smell of the obstetricians cologne which causes flashbacks to her birth. Genna is incredibly brave to be sharing her story with me and I am happy to be able to share her story with you all. She is a huge advocate for women's birthing rights and is determined to make her next birth a healing experience. Please note that Genna's birth story was quite traumatic and if you are still early in your healing journey just be mindful incase this is upsetting for you. Ep 3- Jayne and Indi

On this episode, I chat with Jayne. Jayne is a Mum to beautiful Indi who was an induction at 36wks for intrauterine growth restriction. Indi was admitted to the Special Care Nursery for 2wks, which unfortunately interrupted the first special moments. Since then, Indi has been diagnosed with Global Developmental Delay and Jayne talks to us about her struggles with the diagnosis, the long awaited test results for Cerebral Palsy and how her journey has contributed to her PND. Ep 2- Tarryn, Orlando & Hermione

On this episode, I interview Tarryn. Tarryn is a Mum of 2 beautiful kids. She started studying midwifery, but then found her groove as a Doula and a Mentor and loves supporting women through all stages of motherhood. Tarryn speaks openly about her struggle with PND and the challenges she faced around the same time her daughter was born. Ep 1- My Story

Hi everyone and welcome to Let's Talk PND. This is the first episode and I thought I would start by sharing my story and my struggles with PND. I had a wonderful pregnancy and a lovely home birth with my son Louis. Unfortunately he was a very colicy baby and screamed most of the day for the first 12weeks of his life and this was the start of a very slippery slope. At 7 months, I decided to finally convince myself I needed help as I feared the life of my son everyday due to uncontrollable rage and the inability to control my body at times. Now, 15months postpartum I have the most beautiful son and he is the love of my life. I hope you enjoy this episode. If you would like to share your story, get in touch below.
