Life and Fate - Chapter A Day Read Along

Like Proust or Pushkin's Onegin, this is one of those works you can hear about forever yet keep putting off. Don't!!! Grossman's writing is transcendent and there really is something in *every* chapter – on every page. The great thing about the 7+ months of work that went into this is that the bite-size discussions render what might seem intimidating much, much friendlier… I only discovered this series when I was halfway through the book. But I fully enjoyed every episode, plus the long discussions of different sections – which may still be on the feed of their main project (the Slavic Lit Pod podcast). As with all his translations, Robert Chandler's rendering of L&F is unique; he certainly captures Grossman's genius. In brief: genuinely one of the best books you will ever read. Having this to keep you going as those pages mount, to make you think more about them and just add to your enlightenment – it's a great gift to give fans of literature. Bravo, Matt and Cameron!
