Living LIFE as a single parent can be ROUGH! Oftentimes feeling alone or skeptical to share your trials and tribulations because folks just won't understand. The everyday battles to get out the door, arriving to work/school on time, the inner struggles of being present, and since we're being honest, feeling like a bad parent are just few on the list. We hear about the joys of parenting often, but seldom do we hear of the difficulties and how we made it through. Here we'll encourage, support and uplift one another - reminding ourselves that Life Is Possible Single Parent, whether chosen or not!

    I Won't Complain

    Philippians 2: 13-14 reminds us to "do everything without complaining and arguing, so that no one can criticize you. I know, Single Parent, you're thinking - they're going to criticize me either way right? You know throughout my single parenting journey, I've learned some incredibly valuable nuggets, one of which is "know your audience". In knowing myself, I know you and knowing us means that I can assuredly say, we're not looking for fan fair, criticism or much else really, we just want support! Am I right?... I cried as I recorded this and so many episodes, but today's cry was different. This cry was a sigh of relief in that I made to the the other side of what I then believed were insurmountable feats. It was a cry of RELEASE and CELEBRATION all at once; like, being at the highest mountain top, but due to depletion the lowest valley- simultaneously. Have you ever felt that way Single Parent? More importantly, what do you do when you find yourself in this or a similar situation?     Renewed Strength

    Renewed Strength Isaiah 40:31 " But they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not be faint." HOW incredibly Powerful is that scripture Single Parents?! I mean my spirit was lifted, just typing the message out. I felt renewed, hopeful even, which is a great Segway for this episode.. Those that wait.. whether you are a new to single parenting or not, strength feels like a lightyear away. There's never enough of it and it almost never feels like it's our turn to receive. Or is it? Today, I want to know where your strength comes from. How do you get your adrenaline to push forward. What's the driver or force behind it? More importantly, how do you sustain it? In this episode, we dive right into it and I discuss my example of being depleted, but somehow getting renewed strength just when I am on the verge of giving up - trusting the ultimate SOURCE to see me through! I further pass along a few tips that will help you gain this same renewal, manage your tasks and calm your mind.     Hard Pressed

    Hard Pressed.. 2 Corinthians 4:8 says “We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair.” This scripture surely was written for Single Parents- right?! It summarizes our distinct journey, yet gives us hope for what's on the horizon. To the point of this episode.. Single parenting is BEYOND crushing no matter the stage in which you're end. There are always questions about doing enough or needing to do more. Satisfying / being satisfied.. trail and Triumph! But that's that good part...when you can look back and see how far you've come even when you're still going through. In this episode, we dive right into it and I discuss my examples of being perplexed, crushed, and even what I thought was despair. Yet, through my journey there was a fight within that gave me reason, strength, comfort in not leaning on my understanding, but trusting the ultimate SOURCE!     Where Your Treasure Is

    Where Your Treasure Is.. Matthew 6:21 says “For where your treasure is, here your heart will be also.” Without a doubt, my children are the sparkle of my eye. They are my treasure and where my heart resides. Seems I waited all of my life to say / have that feeling and now that it’s here, the experience is so very different than I imagine. In part, my treasure is split, hurting and confused over circumstances, honestly, I put them in. Which then begs the question, am I truly valuing my treasure? Without hesitation, that answer is a resounding yes, Yes & YES! To the point of this episode.. Single parenting is incredibly overwhelming for us adults to process and work through. How then, do we expect out little ones to deal with the same, specially when, they are not even equipped with the necessary tools to lesson the impact. In this episode, we dive right into it and I discuss one manner we are utilizing to cope with our transition, confront our stressors and (slowly but surely) move to the other side of this.     Bondage: What Can Man Do to Me?

    "What Can Man Do to Me?" When I think about bondage, this is a question that comes up surrounding fear. And as Single Parents, we know more details than not about some of the things we fear on a day to day basis. From isolation, rejection, failure, to abandonment, hatred, or a change in lifestyle to name even. That list can certainly go on.. The question is, how do you make it through the fear of bondage? I mean realistically, what can you do when your hands and feet are bound? Well, let's talk about it! I'll tell you exactly what I did and how I'm feeling about it now.     Brag vs. Blame

    Picture Day.. is here! The Question is - what does your smile look like? Is it screaming Brag or Blame; Blemished or Beautiful? Bright or Broken...? Whenever, I look at my photo albums, I get such great joy from indulging in the memories. Yet in some, I remember pain, affliction, downright sadness that I knew existed, but to the naked eye- they'd be none the wiser. Yet and still it is wonderful to reflect. It is wonderful to see the growth and as Single Parents, there is no greater joy! In this episode, I again provide memories reflection on exactly where I am today, where you may be or where you are trying to land. It's been a journey for me indeed and that will continue to be my testimony! However, for the newly single parent (SP) or SP who just needs to connect with another... feel another's pain or triumph all at once... know that there is breakthrough!     Reflections

    Reflections.. Whether memories shared or an internal look back at who you were then verses now; reflection is an opportunity to see growth or Not! As Single Parents, we constantly look for growth in our children. Growth dictates whether we buy new shoes now or later, go up in clothes sizing or swap out the toddler bed for a regular size. But what about our growth as Single Parents; how do we confirm our growth and/or do we recognize it at all?  In this episode, I give provide memories shared with me that resonate exactly where I am today. It's been a journey indeed and that will continue, for sure! However, for the newly single parent (SP) or SP who just needs to connect with another... feel another's pain or triumph all at once... know that there is breakthrough! So let's affirm you today. Let's affirm your success as a single parent and your growth as an individual!

    Wisdom vs Understanding

    Wisdom vs. Understanding How does this title feel reading as a Single Parent ? Do you feel you've achieved one or the other, possibly both? Or do you feel lost, beat down from exhaustion or still not understand why you are even in this season of your life? I wonder how many of you actually feel relatable to this title, worthy of claiming wisdom, understanding your "why" and propelling forward based on these revelations. There's a lot of truth and validity on both sides.
