This podcast is ADDICTIVE. Cameron Reilly and Ray Harris somehow manage to make 2,000-year-old history feel like it just happened last week. The Romans were absolute characters — some brilliant, some insane, most a mix of both — and the way these guys tell their stories is hilarious and eye-opening at the same time. They keep you hooked and wanting more.
When I first discovered the podcast (about a year ago), I went in thinking I’d learn a little about Julius Caesar, but what I got was this wild ride through all the emperors: power struggles, betrayals, ridiculous egos, and more drama than you could ever dream up. The best part is that Cam and Ray don’t just dump facts on you — they argue, they joke, they go off on tangents (mostly Cam), and it somehow makes you care even more about Roman history.
No exaggeration, I’m always laughing out loud in the shower while listening, or in my car during my daily commute to and from work, or when I’m working from home after a long day at work (teacher life), or when I’m doing random stuff in between. If you want history that’s fun, funny, and actually sticks in your brain, this is the podcast to listen to. I’ve learned so much but it never feels preachy, heavy, or boring. It feels like you’re sitting in on a convo between two friends that love history. ABSOLUTELY worth your time and your $6.00!
Cam and Ray, never change. Only thing that I politely ask for is more episodes please (once a week?), and the guest Counsel episodes, what happened to those? We need more!
Huge fan! Highly recommend! Two thumbs up! 5 stars!
Thank you!
