Richard Hsung on the Chinese Immigrant Experience, Leaving Communist China as a Teen and How he Found his Purpose Editing his Mother's Memoir "Spring Flower"

Richard Hsung on the Chinese Immigrant Experience, Leaving Communist China as a Teen and How he Found his Purpose Editing his Mother's Memoir "Spring Flower"

Richard Perkins Hsung was born in China in 1966 and was one of the first teens to leave China legally after Mao’s Cultural Revolution. He earned a Ph.D. in chemistry from the University of Chicago and became a professor at the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities and the University of Wisconsin-Madison, retiring in 2022. He spent ten years editing and completing Spring Flower (Earnshaw Books) by his mother, Jean Tren-Hwa Perkins, MD.

Jean Tren-Hwa Perkins was born unwanted during the 1931 Yangtze River Flood, adopted by medical missionaries, brought to the US for a few years, then trapped in Communist China. She was neither American nor Chinese "enough," yearning for acceptance and home her whole life.
The Chinese immigrant experience, especially for women, is often overlooked and deserves to be told. Bridging two centuries, this story brings to life themes of displacement, hope, and a woman's coming of age, and brings history to life.
The three-volume memoir chronicles her life as an adopted child of American medical missionaries, survivor of China's brutal communist regime, ophthalmologist, immigrant, and mother.

Actress/Model & Transformational/Mindset Coach Louise Ashby On Turning Trauma into Triumph, Pain into Purpose

Actress/Model & Transformational/Mindset Coach Louise Ashby On Turning Trauma into Triumph, Pain into Purpose

With an amazing life story full of twists of fate, actress and model Louise Ashby is a remarkable woman who, facing monumental obstacles beat the odds. The radical changes that Louise was forced to endure did not dis-empower her. To the contrary, she steadfastly pursued her lifelong goals and found success. This story is one of strength and hope, an affirmation of human willpower in the face of tragedy.
After tragedy and a life altering accident that took her face, Louise attributes her healing and return to her life to the tools and practices she had to develop in order to do what the doctors said wasn’t possible. Some of these were daily meditations and visualizations of herself as “whole and healthy.” All of her seven doctors told her it wasn’t possible but she wouldn’t take no for an answer and continued visualizing. Today her doctors use her story when they lecture, about how she didn’t have room for doubt in her recovery and that is why she is in the position she’s in. Her face is fixed and her spirit strong.
Today Louise is working on her new coaching programs helping women transform their lives as well as guiding them through challenges and how their mindset matters. Most recently Louise did her first TedX Talk.

LOUISE ASHBY

All reviews about this Ashby girl have conveniently been removed . Because they are honest and at times honesty is very unpleasant. As is this girl Ashby. UNPLEASANT! Only praising reviews are kept up aren’t they. This deceives the listener, is biased and edging on fraud, false advertising, misleading the listener . Ashby has no right promoting herself as she is. It is so so! wrong . This Ashby person deceives people lies, takes advantage of people when they are down and weak . In fact, she FEEDS off this and takes money from them. To enrich herself. This girl is a hypocrite amongst other things. Lives off the r past. Embellishing her resume yo no end it is a true joke. Seriously. You have removed other reviews that have bought this to peoples attention. Hence you are now really verging on false advertising! Amongst other things .
