Light Bearers in Training was inspired by the novel "Light Bearers: The Awakening". Just as Sarah was awakened to the Light and trained in her powers, we are awakened to the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ and we need to train to live for Him in this world and  carry forward the message of His good news. This is a devotional-like Podcast geared towards teens and young adults, helping them walk in the Light of Jesus Christ and reject the lies of the enemy.  Parents of teens can also listen to help facilitate discussions with their children. In a time when darkness seems to be winning as Light Bearers, we stand firm in our faith and our identity as blood bought children of the most High King!

    S2 E1: What is God Growing in You?

    Welcome Light Bearers and Happy Anniversary! With this episode, the Light Bearers in Training Podcast is celebrating it’s one year anniversary. I’m very thankful, to you, our listeners for continuing to download and listen.  Season 2 of Light Bearers in Training will still include the tips, tools, and prayers you need to grow your relationship with God and continue to fight back against the Darkness.     S1 E45: When Your Soul Feels Dry

    Today’s episode is for the person who doesn’t necessarily feel guilty…but feels dry. Spiritually dry. Tired. Numb. Like the well has run low and the ground of your soul is cracked.  Spiritual dryness is that season when you still believe, you still love God, you still show up—but you feel like someone turned the volume down on your heart. ·      You open your Bible and the words feel flat. ·      You sing in worship, but your emotions lag behind. ·      You pray, but it feels like your words float up and hit the ceiling. You might even feel guilty about feeling this way, like, “I should be more on fire for God. I should feel more.” But instead, you feel like dry ground that hasn’t seen rain in a while. If that’s you, I want you to know: you are not alone. Scripture is full of people who walked through dry places with God. And God doesn’t reject them for it; He meets them in it.

    S1 E44: God's Word Washes Our Hearts

    On today’s episode, we’re moving from the mind to the heart. This week’s focus is the Lord washing our hearts. We’re going to talk about what it really means to bring the mud of our sin, our compromises, and our secret regrets into the light and presence of God and ask Him to cleanse us. Not to shame us, but to restore us. Have you ever had that feeling where your heart just feels… muddy? You know you’re forgiven in Christ. You believe the gospel. But maybe there’s something you said in anger, a pattern you keep returning to, or a compromise you’ve been ignoring. And even though life goes on—you go to work, care for your family, serve at church—inside there’s this heaviness, this sense that your heart isn’t clean.

    S1 E43: God's Word Washes Our Minds

    We just walked through Lent and Resurrection Sunday, remembering Jesus’ love, His sacrifice, and the empty tomb. Now we’re stepping into a new month, a new season—and around here that means rain, puddles, and that old saying: “April showers bring May flowers.” When I was thinking about what to share with you this month, I kept picturing those gentle spring rains that rinse dust off cars, wash pollen out of the air, and soak dry ground so new things can grow. And I sensed the Lord whisper, “That’s what I want to do in your mind and heart—wash away what doesn’t belong so I can grow something new.” So we’re starting a new series called “April Showers: Cleansed to Grow.” And today, in Week 1, we’re talking about how God uses His Word—Scripture—to wash your mind, to rinse off the lies, the fear, and the shame you’ve been carrying.

    S1 E42: Resurrection Sunday

    Hey fellow Light Bearers, Happy Resurrection Sunday! In Christian traditions the pastor often says, “He is Risen” to the congregation, they respond back with, “He is Risen Indeed.” Say that with me my friends, “He is Risen indeed.” We’ve walked through Lent together—through honest self‑examination, the wilderness, Passover, and the cross.  On today’s episode, we arrive at the empty tomb. This is the day everything changes. If the story ended on Friday, we’d have forgiveness but no future, a dead Savior and a shattered hope. But the grave could not hold Jesus.

    S1 E41: Lent at The Cross

    Last week we talked about Jesus as our Passover Lamb. At the cross where Jesus was sacrificed for us, we see both the seriousness of sin and the depth of God’s love. On today’s episode, as we move closer to Resurrection Sunday, we can’t rush past the cross. First we have to hit Friday, Good Friday, the day we mark in remembrance of Jesus dying on the cross. I want us to slow down and stand there for a while—at the place where true love suffered, bled, and died. And also think back to how true love came to this earth.

    S1 E40: Lent and Passover

    We’ve been walking through this Lent season together, preparing our hearts for Resurrection Sunday. Last week we talked about being loved in the wilderness.  On today’s episode, I want to take you back even further—to a night in Egypt, a lamb, and a doorway painted in blood. Because to really grasp what Jesus did for us at the cross, we need to understand Passover. Lent and Passover are different holy seasons from different faiths, but they share some deep themes and even overlap in timing.

    S1 E39: Lent in The Wilderness

    Jesus was led into the wilderness to be tested, God allowed this. It did not cancel God’s love, it deepened Jesus’ trust. What does this mean for us as Light Bearers in the Lenten season? On today’s episode, I want to look at Jesus and His time in the wilderness. If you’ve ever felt spiritually dry, tempted, lonely, or like you’re in a season that makes no sense, this one is for you. I want to preface this podcast with saying I take issue when Christian’s use the word wilderness. Some say that in wilderness seasons God is silent, God is hiding, God is far away and that’s just not true. We can have seasons where we are more spiritually dry, tempted, grieving, lonely, and on the list goes- but that has to do with us and out feelings or circumstances, not with God. We shouldn’t blame Him if things don’t feel right to us and our easily swayed hearts.
