    The Tree of the knowledge of good and evil

    Genesis 2:16-17 NIV . And the LORD God commanded the man, “You are free to eat from any tree in the garden; but you must not eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, for when you eat from it you will certainly die.” What is the “tree of the knowledge of good and evil”? What was it all about? There are some who even think it was something evil? How could the perfect God create evil? All His works are good and perfect. All of God’s creation were good and perfect and that tree was part of the creation. “And God saw everything that He had made, and behold, it was very good. And the evening and the morning were the sixth day…………Genesis 1:31KJV” In the rhetorics of men, there are some who even mock God as tempting Adam and Eve to sin, but that tree was no temptation from God. God never tempts man with evil. Remember that the tree was not evil but good. “Let no man say when he is tempted, “I am tempted by God”; for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempteth He any man……. James 1:13KJV” So what was the tree of the knowledge of good and evil? It’s what sin is all about, it has been played out over and over in the lives of men. The partaking of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil didn’t end in the garden of Eden, it’s still going on. God said to man, you have the freedom to eat of any other tree but you must never eat of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. Why? It is because that tree belongs only to God. The tree of the knowledge of good and evil didn’t just mean a tree which after eating of its fruit you will be able to discern between what is good and what is evil. It was more than that. It’s a tree of moral autonomy, it is where one gets to decide what is good and what is evil. Only the creator decides what is good and what is evil, the creature has no right to determine that independent of God. Only God has moral autonomy. This has been the longstanding problem of man, the reason for the curse. He wants to determine what is right and wrong, he wants to take the position of God. The creature has no right to decide what is right or wrong and how to live his or her life. So the serpent tempted and deceived Eve saying, after eating of this tree you will be like God, you will have moral autonomy deciding what is right and what is wrong. It’s the very reason for all the sins men commit. Men became their own moral compass. They became wise in their own eyes, trusting on their own understanding. So the Prophet says, “Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that count darkness as light, and light as darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter! Woe unto them that are wise in their own eyes, and prudent in their own sight!.......Isaiah 5:20-21KJV” Anytime you ignore what God has said to do what you want; you are no different from Adam and Eve. Anytime you think you are right just because it makes sense to you or your friends, you are partaking of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. When God placed the tree of the knowledge of good and evil in the midst of the garden yet commanded man never to eat of it, it was God’s way of telling them that you live by my commandments and not by your own dictates or that of any other. I only determine how you live; I am the reference point of righteousness. Moral autonomy is what will bring in the antichrist age and the destruction of men, it’s the cause of all moral decadence and problems of men. A man one day will make himself God determining what is right or wrong, a man who will become the law. he is the man of sin, the antichrist. Moral autonomy is self-worship, its idolatry. Are you the reference point of righteousness, do you determine how things are done independent of God’s word? If so, be careful and repent!     A Disrespect To God

    1 John 4:4KJV Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world Hannah under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit spoke and said, “Talk no more so exceeding proudly; let not arrogancy come out of your mouth: for the LORD is a God of knowledge, and by him actions are weighed......1 Samuel 2:3 KJV” God weighs actions. God is not just moved because you sang about His greatness and power. To Him, your attitude to life is very important. It shows whether you meant what you said or not. There are certain Christians who are afraid of witchcraft and devils. The things they say, how they respond to situations and their conversation in life all attest to a fear of the demonic yet still such individuals keep on professing the Scripture “Greater is he that is in me, than he that is in the world” God is not just interested in the talk but most importantly the walk. Your true measure of the greatness of God is reflected in how you respond to life. As far as you are afraid of satan and his devils, it means you don’t believe that God really lives in you or you have a poor estimation of who God really is. For many, the problem really is that though they quote the Scripture “Greater is he that is in me, than he that is in the world”, they are not truly persuaded by the abiding presence of God in them. It has just become a religious statement, the reason why Christians are defeated in life. God indeed dwells in you through His Spirit; the Creator really lives in you. This is why you need not fear anything. You have to come to a point in your life where truth becomes the Word of God and not what you see or feel. There are Christians who can’t even boldly mention satan’s name because of fear. Why fear the nonentity satan and his smaller demons when the Great Jehovah lives in you? Should light fear darkness or vice versa? You are not ordinary. After God tells you that He lives in you and you still see yourself ordinary then you are not serious. It’s a disrespect to God. You ought to dance about such a statement. It has to change your attitude in life When John realized that God now lives in the Christian, only what he could say is that “you have overcome the world”. You have overcome the world and its demons. He understood who God is and had a proper estimation of His person and power.     Finish Your Course

    2 Timothy 4:7KJV I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: The most important thing in life is for men to find their purpose and fulfill it. The life of a man is a race, a course to complete. Find your course and finish it. Success as pertains to God is all about a man finding his purpose in life and fulfilling it. No matter the accomplishments, the seemingly achievements, no matter the material acquisitions if a Christian doesn’t fulfill the purpose for which he was born, he is a failure. The success of a product is the fulfillment of the purpose for which it was made. Only the manufacturer can determine the success of a product. The Bible says, “For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.... Ephesians 2:10KJV” You are not an accident. Every human has a purpose in life, find that purpose and fulfill it. Man can only start living out his divine purpose when he comes into Christ. There are two destinies, the natural and divine. The natural destiny is what family, society and the world put on you but the divine destiny is found in Christ. Sadly, not even all Christians fulfill their divine destiny. The most important thing in life is to fulfill the purpose for which you were born. There are many including Christians who live and die without finding out their purpose. Man! Find out your purpose and fulfill it. The journey of life is different for every man; don’t try to be someone else. There is a purpose for your life, find it and fulfill it. Paul the Apostle understood and knew his purpose in life, he was fully focused on completing his race. At the end he could say, “I have finished my course, I have kept the faith”. Will you be able to say the same when all is done? The day the trumpet sounds, can you say the same? There are Christians doing the wrong jobs, married to the wrong people, living in the wrong place etc etc. They are in a wrong course How can you even fulfill your purpose when you are in the wrong course? Only God can guide you into fulfilling your purpose for being. Every manufacturer makes a product for a specific purpose. There are people in the wrong course because of carnal reasons. They want to be like other people. They compete and compare themselves with others. This is not wisdom. The journey of life is different for every human being. What should matter to you is finding your purpose and fulfilling it. This is the true meaning of success.     God Cares

    Romans 8:32KJV He that spared not His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things? How much does God care for you? He cared enough to have delivered up His own son for you. This is how much He loves you. If one can give you His son, He will give you all. God never promised a trouble free life. You don’t tell someone to overcome if problems will not come. He never promised us a trouble free life. What He promised is victory. When you are in troubles, when things become difficult and it seems there is no way out, remember that God cares. Cast all the cares upon Him. The Bible says, “Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you....1 Peter 5:7KJV” God will not fail you. He has never failed any that truly trusted in Him and you wont be the first. Scripture says, “Whoever believes on Him will not be put to shame....Romans 10:11KJV” Paul was quoting David. David had experienced this. He had been through a lot of troubles but when all was said and done he came on top because he unreservedly trusted in God so he said, “To You, O LORD, I lift up my soul. O my God, in You I [have unwavering] trust [and I rely on You with steadfast confidence],Do not let me be ashamed or my hope in You be disappointed; Do not let my enemies triumph over me. Indeed, none of those who [expectantly] wait for You will be ashamed. Those who turn away from what is right and deal treacherously without cause will be ashamed (humiliated, embarrassed)....Psalm 25:1-3 AMP” Yes! None of those who expectantly wait for God will be ashamed. Don’t waver because of the storms. After all is said and done, you will come up on top. Remember, God knows what you are going through and He cares. All He requires from you is an unwavering faith.     God Needs Your Response

    Psalm 27:8KJV When thou saidst, Seek ye my face; my heart said unto thee, Thy face, LORD, will I seek God needs your response, He needs a heart response. Man’s heart was created to respond to God’s Words. The solution to your problem is not to sorrow and murmur, the question is what has He said about you in such situations? Have you responded? What instruction did He give? Have you responded? All what faith is, is a heart response to what God has said. This is not a mental response, not a pretentious response but a heart response. If you couldn’t say in public what you said to God about the situation then your faith in that matter hasn’t arrived yet. Sometimes, there are people who think they are in faith when really they are not. When they are with God alone or even around those they deem spiritually matured, they will make the right statements of faith but when around carnal Christians or people of the world, they talk their fears. There is no problem with that, be yourself. Righteousness is about being yourself and not pretending. All that your heart is telling you is that your faith in that matter hasn’t yet arrived. You don’t have to feel bad about it, just give time to the word so to feed your faith. You can confess thousand times but if it didn’t come from a heart of faith, nothing will change. Its not about formula’s and methods. There are people who teach faith as formula’s and methods. It’s not supposed to be so. Such will fail when the storm intensifies. Faith is about being you because it is of the heart. Be yourself. When you are yourself and finds out that you are in fear or doubt, feed your faith. Feed your faith till faith becomes your new normal. This is all what faith is. When it comes to God, there have to be a response, the right response. They said he was a good Christian, he was even a Pastor but why did this happen? It’s not about being a good Christian or Pastor, it’s about a heart response to what God said and is saying about you in that situation. David said, “When thou saidst, Seek ye my face; my heart said unto thee, Thy face, LORD, will I seek”.     God Will Not Afflict

    Lamentations 3:33KJV For he doth not afflict willingly nor grieve the children of men. When a person lacks an understanding of the character of God, he will accept certain wrong messages and doctrines, which just opens the door for the devil to destroy him There are Christians and even some Pastors who preach that God put sickness and afflictions on people to try and test them. The Bible says that woe is he that calls good “evil” and evil “good”. When a Christian doesn’t have his spiritual senses exercised to discern between good and evil, he is a babe. It doesn’t matter your title or what they call you. Scripture says that God does not afflict willingly. Its never God’s desire to afflict or try any Christian with afflictions or diseases. God doesn’t do that. In the Old Testament when such things came upon God’s covenant people, it was because they had gone astray and even in that He had to bear for such things to come upon them in the hope that they were going to repent “I have sent among you the pestilence after the manner of Egypt: your young men have I slain with the sword, and have taken away your horses; and I have made the stink of your camps to come up unto your nostrils: yet have ye not returned unto me, saith the LORD...AMOS 4:10KJV” He says, “Yet have ye not returned unto me”. I allowed these to come upon you in the hope that you repent but yet have ye not returned unto me. It wasn’t my will and desire but yet have ye not returned unto me. Those who preaches that God put sickness and afflictions to try the Christian, ask them if they will try their children with cancer, tuberculosis, diabetes etc etc? Jesus said to the Jews, “If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask Him.... Matthew 7:11KJV” If even the evil knows that it is wrong to put sickness on his child, God knows better”. Its wrong and evil to refer satan’s work to God. Peter said, “How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power, who went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him....     It will be a post tribulation rapture

    1 Thessalonians 4:16KJV For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. There are Christian denominations and well-known men of God, who have advanced the message of a pretribulation rapture, a message that says that the church will be raptured before the great tribulation. They mean that the church won’t be on earth during the great tribulation because they will be raptured before then. They quote Scriptures from Revelations and all other parts of the Bible to support this claim. I wish they were right but they are not. When I teach post tribulation rapture, it is not because I want it to be so but its because this is what the Word of God says. And what we do is to submit ourselves to whatever His plan is because He is God, the decider not us. There are many ways I can prove to you that the rapture is post tribulation but this morning I want to show a simple one of what the Holy Spirit taught and showed me. The Scripture they refer to, as a pretribulation rapture is our introductory Scripture, where Paul says, “For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord” This is gleaned from the first letter that Paul the Apostle wrote to the church at Thessalonica. Now if you believe in a pre-tribulation rapture, what you are saying is that you will come from heaven with the Lord on that day He comes to execute judgment on the earth, a day popularly known as the Day of the Lord. This means that what they call the first flight church wont be on earth on that Day of the Lord because based on their teaching, they come with Jesus from Heaven on that day to execute vengeance on the anti-christ and his army but lets observe what Paul goes on to tell this same people regarding the Day of the Lord. Mind you, we are talking about the same letter and the same people. We want to observe what Paul goes on to tell the same Christians that he has just in some minutes told, “For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord”. Paul goes on to say to them, “But of the times and the seasons, brethren, ye have no need that I write unto you. For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night. For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape..... 1 Thessalonians 5:1-3 KJV” Paul tells them that the day of the Lord will come upon the world as a thief in the night, not to them but to the world. Now if you are a pre-tribulation rapture believer, you wont be on earth that day because you are supposed to be descending with Jesus from heaven but lets see what Paul says to them regarding that day, the Day of the Lord’s vengeance. “But you, believers, [all you who believe in Christ as Saviour and acknowledge Him as God’s Son] are not in spiritual darkness [nor held by its power], that the day [of judgment] would overtake you [by surprise] like a thief; for you are all sons of light and sons of day. We do not belong to the night nor to darkness.
