Physiologically Rich

It’s been years—7 to be exact—and I’ve got some thoughts to share. I’ve been reading this book called Life in Three Dimensions: How Curiosity, Exploration, and Experience Make a Fuller, Better Life by Shigehiro Oishi, PhD, and I can’t stop talking about it! Life is about living and experiences. We are meant to feel it all: the good, the bad, and the ugly. Does your mood determine your happiness? Does your happiness determine how successful you are? Just walk away with the Joy

I am a big fan of writing it out. If you feel sad if you feel happy if you feel stuck if you feel motivated, write it out. Journaling is something I try to do often and I have found it has helped me understand parts f myself that was hidden within me; voices I possed that I didn't even know, voices that speak power, strength, and healing into my life. Praise da lawrd, amirite, amirite?!

Home Coming

This podcast started as a tool to help me hold myself accountable when it came to sharing my authentic and genuine opinions and creative expressions. As I embrace my artistic process it continues to reveal to my fears and concerns. In this particular episode, I reflect on my internal experiences during these first half of 2020 and I continue to get acquainted with this platform, this tool of communications (with myself and with others) as well. Pain, ancestral trauma and artistic expression

Ancestral trauma (predominately in communities with displaces black and brown bodies) is the cause of many troubling thoughts and action in our present life. These thoughts and actions can lead to serious mental and physical health issues preventing us from living our best fullest life. Artistic expression is my favorite liberation technique to nip these toxic chains in the butt. Hang out with me while I share a poem I wrote called Dolor, or Pain where I tackle victimhood. This poem and other tools of expression have supported my journey towards liberation from ancestral trauma.

Expression through writing

Take this walk down memory lane with me as I share a piece of writing that helped me understand and process my feelings towards a particular individual in my life in a positive way. Writing has always been a comforting tool of self-expression for me as it allows me to have a voice in and heal. Writing can be a powerful tool of healing and while sharing such intimate writing can be intimidating it can also be an extremely empowering act. Code switching? Blackness and Hasan Minhaj

A short ramble on an interview between Hasan Minhaj and Ebro Darden from Hot 97. The two discus U.S American politics from to different points of views. Blackness is not a singular experience and it is evident by the language these two use to communicate. I think this is a dope example of communication that exhibits two different upbringing even though the two would still be labelled as 'coloured people' or 'people of colour', under US American paradigm norms. What do ya'll think? How have your environment shaped the way you perceive your experiences, you language and how you communicate with others?
