Episode 90: A gifted singer lost her voice and discovered her true calling

Episode 90: A gifted singer lost her voice and discovered her true calling

Sometimes God has a calling on our lives that we don’t recognize and perhaps don’t want. In His infinite love God rearranges our lives to bring this calling to surface, make it very clear. Then we have a choice to accept or reject it.
In this episode our host Helen Todd interviews LeAnn Remmers who at a very early age discovered her talent for signing and dreamt of a career as a singer. She had a promising start with the opportunities to pursue record labels and to go on tours. But at 19 years old, she found out that she had vocal damage that would require surgery and at least a year without singing, which could end her musical career. It seemed like her dream was gone and the pain of losing it caused her to drift away from God.
LeAnn tells her story and shares how God reached out to her to show her that He had different plans for her life and showed her that His calling gave her everything she desired. You’ll hear her entire story in this episode of the Limitless Spirit Podcast.

Episode 89: Regular practice of fasting helped him heal from bitterness and anger

Episode 89: Regular practice of fasting helped him heal from bitterness and anger

In John 16, verse 33, Jesus reminds us that we will have trouble in this world, but He encourages us to take heart because He has overcome the world. Sometimes troubles become even deeper after we accept Christ.
In this episode, our host Helen Todd speaks with Tony Stephens, whose story shows us that we can have peace in Christ even when we go through trials. Tony was raised in church but dealt with anger and bitterness after losing both of his parents at a young age. But after deciding to return to church as an adult in a rocky marriage, he was encountered by God and baptized in the Holy Spirit. His trials wouldn’t end there but would only get worse. Just before being sent to Iraq in the special forces after 9/11, Tony lost his job, his wife filed for divorce, and he was homeless for a period. Learning how to deal with adversity and heal from bitterness and anger Tony discovered a practice that transformed his life. You’ll hear his entire story in this episode of the Limitless Spirit Podcast.

Episode 88: Faith journey of a Christian doctor born in a Muslim country

Episode 88: Faith journey of a Christian doctor born in a Muslim country

We don’t have control over many circumstances in our lives, nor do we understand why bad things happen to us or those around us. But a relationship with God can help us navigate life’s most challenging moments.
This week on the Limitless Spirit Podcast, our host Helen Todd speaks with Dr. Peter Macfield, a family practice doctor who serves patients in Michigan alongside his pediatrician wife, Masuma. They were both born and raised in the Muslim country of Bangladesh where Peter’s devoutly Christian mother served as a medical missionary.
Peter has had a challenging faith journey, including the death of his father at just one and a half years old, meeting and trying to convert his future wife, and the sudden death of his mother while living 8,000 miles away in America. In this episode, we hear how these events brought Peter closer to God, rather than pushing him further away.
4:45 - How Peter personally came to know Jesus
12:25 - Meeting his future wife, a devout Muslim
18:25 - Was Peter’s faith stronger while in Bangladesh, or in America?

Episode 86: She sought peace and safety in yoga until she experienced demonic oppression

Yoga, an activity that many of us learn at the gym or at home, can be a great way to stretch and relax. But its deeply spiritual roots can lead people on a dark road to deception, idol worship, and even demonic torment.
In this episode of the Limitless Spirit Podcast, our host Helen Todd talks with Sunny Garza, who turned to Christ after trying to use yoga to find peace and a sense of safety. Sunny threw herself into the yoga culture as a student, and even went to a yoga retreat in Columbia, trying to fill a hole in her life. While in Columbia, she interacted with a self-proclaimed “reiki healer”, and began to feel demonically tormented shortly after.
You’ll hear Sunny describe the demonic torment she faced, how she found healing and deliverance in Christ, and what she thinks about yoga now.
     4:15 - Sunny’s early childhood
8:15 - Seeking spirituality through yoga
    10:55 - Interacting with a “reiki healer”
