    First Day Back

    It's the first day back for a new semester! I've got a lot of mixed feelings about this but one thing's for sure, I'm not prepared for the year ahead HAHA I'm sure everyone feels this way but not knowing what lies ahead sort of terrifies me.  In this episode, I'll be talking about my feelings after the first day of classes post a really long and well deserved break. Juggling responsibilities and managing time are some things that I'm learning to handle, and I hope you will too.

    Thoughts on Influencers

    No shade to the recent drama.  I recorded this episode 2 weeks ago. Just as I was about to post it, I stopped myself and thought that I should re-record it because of the recent 'incidents' that would make this episode even more relatable. But after much contemplation, I ended up NOT fixing anything at all. I'm sticking with my original episode because I stand by what I've said in it, despite knowing how hurtful some influencers may be.  I hope you enjoy this episode. I hope you learn a lot from it and ultimately, I hope you understand the importance of being empathetic to others.

    Social media is scary. After watching 'The Social Dilemma', I've had a lot of thought about the negative ways that social media has impacted me and my life. Sure, it can help us connect with information and others at a quicker rate, but to what extent are we going to let it control our lives, or even shape our entire personalities? It's terrifying to think about how advanced technology is, that you might not even realise that it's shaping and controlling you.

    Throughout the pandemic, I have had a bunch of burnout periods where I just feel like doing nothing and my mind goes completely blank. But burnouts are NOT indestructible, and it's definitely not something that you can't control.     The Romanticisation of Western Culture

    Growing up watching Western TV, I always thought to myself "Man, if I lived in America, I would be prettier, more independent, go to a better school..." and the list goes on. A part of me has always been critical and ashamed even of my upbringing and culture because I felt like it was nothing compared to the free and idealistic Western world. I guess you could say I'm indoctrinated by the idea of the Western Culture but that's not to say that I've realized that some parts of it will never align with my personal worldviews.

    Why I Stopped Weighing Myself

    When I say I stopped weighing myself, I don't mean I stopped consistently knowing how much I weigh. What I mean is that it has been 3 years since I've literally stepped on a scale. I don't know how much I weigh, and frankly I don't want to know (at least not anytime soon). I used to fear and obsess over the scale, letting it control my mood, confidence and happiness. But I no longer want to give it that power, here's why.

    Middle School Sucks

    I'll be honest with you middle school was poop. Sure maybe not entirely, but nyeh at least 70% of it definitely was for me. Self esteem? Ruined. Old friendships? Dead. Overall system? Just NO. I do have some amazing memories from that time but I am definitely SO GLAD that I moved to a new high school. Instead of telling you about who I am in that kind of introductory episode, let me tell you about the period in my life that ruined me but eventually made me into the person I am today (yeah, yeah cheesy, I know).
