    Amy LaRue - Finding Hope

My guest is Amy LaRue. In 2015 Amy’s family faced the biggest storm they had ever walked through. She remembers feeling helpless, angry, frustrated, lonely, and hopeless. She decided a change needed to be made and began to seek help for herself. That is when she attended her first Finding Hope meeting. Because of Finding Hope, Amy learned she was not alone, it was not her fault, and there was hope. She discovered who she was again. Amy began to pray for God to use this storm for His glory and purpose. In 2019 God called Amy to become the Finding Hope Coordinator for Hope is Alive Ministries. Stephany Cohran - Healing Trauma with Green Shoe

My guest is Stephany Cochran, who currently serves as the Executive Director of the Green Shoe Foundation, a mental health non-profit organization that offers a 5-day group therapy retreat for adults 21 and older with a focus on healing from childhood trauma. Stephany earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and a Master’s of Science in Counseling and Student Services from the University of North Texas. She is passionate about helping others reach their full potential through compassion, leadership, and education. Prior to joining the Green Shoe team, she was a Licensed Professional Counselor in Texas and specialized in working with families, youth, and children. She facilitated experiential groups for children and teens struggling with emotional and behavioral difficulties. Through that practice, and as a mom to two incredible boys, her next move was close to the heart when her team started a private school for children and youth that offered individualized academic and therapeutic treatment plans. Once relocating to Oklahoma, Stephany’s path transitioned into Higher Education working with non-traditional students in the career college setting. Now as the Executive Director of Green Shoe, she is truly rooted where she gets to use her remarkable gifts at a place she loves to be. Stephany is a huge advocate for self-care, whether through her leadership or simply taking a friend to dinner, creating mental health awareness is what she lives and breathes. When Stephany isn’t coaching others, you can find her tossing a ball to her fur-baby, Penske, reading Harry Potter or Twilight (for the hundredth time), spending time with her family, watching Hallmark movies, or cheering on her Texas Rangers during baseball season. 7. Mason Phillips - Relating Wholeheartedly

    Mason Phillips - Relating Wholeheartedly

My guest is Mason Phillips, who is just a plain Oklahoma boy. He was born and raised right here, watching the Pokes play on Saturdays, fishing in the cool early weekend mornings, church every Sunday morning, and catching as many baseball games as he can. There was a time when he thought he would be a big music star, but somewhere along the way he took one psychology class and he was in love. No one would ever be impressed by his ACT score or GPA. But one thing is for sure, Mason makes even 30 minutes of conversation worth a man’s while. In 2015, he officially made it his full-time job to have worthwhile conversations with people by becoming a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. He would spend the next years discovering how to help people break habits, became certified as a hypnotherapist, and eventually a State supervisor for new therapists. Since then, Mason has learned that people really do change and grow inside the context of their relationships. Whether it be in your relationship with your spouse, your child, your parent, your God, or yourself, Mason wants you to be able to live in diverse relationships wholeheartedly. Mason works with individuals and couples to help them discover what they truly value in life and become clearer on what purpose God has for them here. Mason does this privately in his therapy sessions, but he has also done this in group settings, at conferences full of people looking for stronger intimacy in their marriages, in classrooms, churches, and in organizations trying to fortify their leadership. And he can do it for you, too. Today, Mason still lives in the heart of Oklahoma with his beloved wife, three incredible and hilarious kids, and his loyal dog, Clark. He still goes fishing, roots for the Cowboys every college football season, makes it to church every Sunday. And tries to catch as many baseball games as he can.
