We create cool things with Josh Vicente

This episode was the first recording session of 2026 in the bitter cold of January. Got to appreciate a Massachusetts native to not give af about the weather to get things done. Speaking of getting things done, Josh Vicente does just that. Josh is a maker of all things cool and most people aren’t aware of the folks that make the cool shit behind the scenes.  The rad rocket that holds a bottle service waitress, the Patriots tv sets, or the cool clubs around the world, Josh and his company We Create Cool Things is doing that right here in Massachusetts. In addition to WeCreateCoolThings.com Josh has also started a company called Modern Meeple, a board game accessory company. Modern Meeple solves problems for gamers with solutions like the Gamey Susan which stores all your board game pieces in an easily sortable, accessible, and functional spinning tray. I picked one up and love it, makes for a smoother game play experience. Since we spoke Josh launched the Every Day Gaming bag on  backerkit asking for 15k in funding and raised nearly 200k and backed by nearly one thousand gaming enthusiasts. The bag built for Everyday Gaming. It holds small box games, TCG decks, dice, and daily essentials. It is compact but spacious, organized and vibrant (on the inside), durable, and ready to bring your games on the go. You may ask yourself how does one go from DJing to making EDG bags? That’s where Local Threads comes in, we get into the journey that is of the guy who creates cool things. Thanks again Josh for being on the pod. Episode 15: The Audeville Society, a local nonprofit centering performing arts with Thomas Drury-Wang

This week, Thomas Drury-Wang, Founder and President of the Audeville Society, talks about how his nonprofit is centering performing arts in New England. The Audeville Society provides grants to those looking to build their portfolio and provides an accessible way to enrich the community through encouraging performers to follow their dreams.  Each year the Audeville Society raises funds for these grants through the Revelry Ball, which is held on February 28th, 2026, at the Royale in Boston, MA. Ticket prices as well as additional donations are used to fund the grant programs, truly making it a by New England for New England affair. This year, Revelry will provide a three-act variety featuring local performers from acrobatics to trombonists, allowing patrons to start the year with a bang.  --------------------------------------------Where to Find Our Guest------------------------------------------------- To find out more about tickets, how to volunteer at the ball or with Audville, and when grant applications open check the websites below.  Website: https://www.audevillesociety.com/ Tickets: https://www.audevillesociety.com/events Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/audevillesociety Revelry Ball Instagram:  Revelry Ball Website: https://www.therevelryball.com/ Performers! https://www.therevelryball.com/entertainment ---------------------------------------------------Mentions-------------------------------------------------------------- Lady LaRouge & Joey March producers of Worcester Draglesque https://www.instagram.com/worcesterdraglesquefestival Delta Miles producer of DIVA! https://www.instagram.com/thedeltamiles/ Boston Circus Guild https://www.bostoncircusguild.com/ Circus 617 https://www.circus617.com/ ---------------------------------------------------Support the Pod---------------------------------------------------- Follow Local Threads Podcast on all platforms https://local-threads.transistor.fm/ Leave a review if you like what you hear!  Local Threads is hosted & produced by: Molly Amatangelo Music by: Moby Gratis
