If you are interested in the intricate world building involved in videogames, this podcast has you covered. The hosts go so far as to discuss canonical and non-canonical outcomes for characters, and even proposed storylines that have leaked from games that never made it to production. The show is worth your time, the hosts are charming, and they stay on topic (which cannot be said for most lore podcasts).

Sometimes after enjoying some piece of fiction or another you just want to vibe to two people talking about that thing you just finished. This does that. These two also go on tangents where they tie themselves in knots apologizing for or tiptoeing on eggshells about …stuff. To no fruitful end. It would be one thing if they were actually discussing the intersection of the fiction with real life issues - the coding of fictional concepts in real world influences, intended or no. But what do instead is make proclamations about how alt-history is problematic because history is important, or the color white (as in, hex code FFFFFF) is problematic because white people? I guess? I don’t have a problem with racially informed literary criticism. I do have a problem with two grade school dropouts fumbling with non-literary takes for minutes at a time in the middle of a lore dump.

Sapphy is not a value add. Im convinced her whole goal is to derail every episode with inane chatter about nothing. Her pretentious and holier than thou attitude ruined this show for me. On top of that there are no Fs given about source material or accuracy. Wikis are a virus, stop using them and take the extra few minutes to learn pronunciations

Love the show, the content is accompanied by fun commentary and some laughs. I love how Mystic talks about some aspects of video game lore that aren’t always so common place and it’s funny when Sapphy gets irritated at some of the awful character names. Definitely recommend this fun show!
