    010 One8Tea - Race and Justice 3

My guest today is no stranger to Lost and Found.  He was part of our trio of launch episodes back in March and he joins us again to talk about race and justice.  He is an award winning Christian hip-hop artist, a black man who is a fellow Canuck ( that’s what we in the True North Strong and Free call a true blue Canadian.  I have said before and say it again, “this is a season where we of the majority community in our culture to take time to listen to what our friends from minority communities are saying about race and discrimination. So pull up a chair and sit with us as my good friend, hip-hop artist One8Tea I talk about race issues and what we can do to step into a brighter day.  You never know… we might even drop in one of One8Tea’s latest releases. This is the third in a series of podcasts where we address race and discrimination.  If you have not already listened to Episodes 8 and 9, I encourage you to download those episodes as well. Resources One8Tea emphasized throughout the interview that his music flows from his life experience. His experience might not be the same as yours, and it certainly differs from mine, but listening to him telling his experience through his music is a learning experience we hope you will benefit from.  Here are links to some of his work: Albums Reverence - click here to download from Apple MusicVentilation - click here to download from Apple MusicOut of Anguish - click here to download from Apple MusicU-Turn - click here to download from Apple MusicSingles I Guess It's Complicated - click here to download from Apple MusicOne People - click here to download from Apple Music Support the show

    007 Victor Somers Socialpreneur

There are some leaders who just seem to draw us out of our comfort zone and into a fresh new reality.  Victor Somers is one of those guys.  In 2011 Victor returned to New Brunswick Canada with a passion to make a difference in a community that had been devastated by military and industry closures.  He had a dream of people's lives being transformed by the gospel, but did anyone want to hear?  Victor Somers is an entrepreneur.  He starts things.  He is always dreaming of what comes next.  So he did the unimaginable.  He purchased buildings.  Run down buildings.  Buildings that were emblematic of a better day in the past.  Buildings that connected with the community's story.  People came.  They listened because Victor was leading a change in their town.  And the many who have listened have responded - and are now part of a change story that is subtly sweeping over the east side of Miramichi. This episode is Victor's story.  By his own admission, some of what he does makes him uncomfortable, but that's what happens when you blaze a trail through a new frontier.  You might disagree with some of what Victor does.  My personal journey with Vic tells me that he is fine with your (or my) disagreement with him.  I can promise you but one thing.  If you will listen to his story, you will hear something that can change your life.  Recommended resources Here are some printed resources Victor has recommended to us: Circle Maker - Mark Batterson CDN purchase: https://amzn.to/2AQ4gOI US purchase: https://amzn.to/30nZUZP The Problem of God - Mark Clark CDN purchase: https://amzn.to/3f5dNjJ US purchase: https://amzn.to/2MEFXGe The Nuts and Bolts of Church Planting - Aubrey Malphurs CDN purchase: https://amzn.to/3fiGvxV US purchase: https://amzn.to/3h8QwiI Dreams in Small Places - Tom Nebel CDN purchase: https://amzn.to/2XJecC US purchase: https://amzn.to/3h9PK4W Support the show
