While he sensed a calling to pastor early on, he also battled severe anxiety. Something he still navigates today. In this conversation, he opens up about how God has met him in that anxiety and equipped him with practical tools to preach and lead with confidence. We also dive into the path that led him into full-time ministry, from years of schooling and earning his master’s degree, to a move to Phoenix, and eventually stepping into his current role at Hillsong Los Angeles.     In this episode of the Lost & Found Podcast, I sit down with my friend Seth Carroll to unpack his powerful journey of faith, identity, and perseverance. Adopted at four years old from Ukraine into a Christian family in Utah, Seth shares the highs and lows of navigating life as an adoptee while growing up in a household that introduced him to Christ. From attending an all-boys boarding school focused on firefighting to finding the independence he craved during a challenging season at home. Seth reflects on how each chapter shaped his character and spiritual foundation. We also dive into his passion for acting and how it never left him, how he refined his craft in college, and how an opportunity brought him to Los Angeles just before COVID, where he continues pursuing his calling today. Seth vulnerably opens up about being born with a deformity in his right hand due to alcohol exposure during pregnancy, and how what once felt like a burden became part of his testimony. Through prayer and growth, he’s come to see that his difference is not a limitation but proof that God can use every detail of our story for purpose. That search brought him deeper into faith and ultimately out to LA, where he’s now pursuing acting full-time. Andre shares what led him into the world of film, the moments that tested him, the prayers he didn’t expect God to answer so quickly, and how stepping into a new city with no community brought him face-to-face with God’s timing. He was praying for connection and then boom, God aligned our paths. It’s a story of calling, perseverance, faith, and the way God weaves people together at the exact right time.

    This week on Lost & Found, I had the honor of sitting down with Miah Marie, whose story beautifully captures what it looks like to grow in relationship with Christ through seasons of questioning, identity, and grace. Raised in a Christian home, Miah was surrounded by ministry from a young age, her father helped churches build their worship teams, and her mother was deeply involved as well. Constantly moving and witnessing the “business” side of church life gave her a unique perspective on faith, community, and authenticity. But as she grew older, those experiences led her to ask hard questions. While attending a Christian college, she began to deconstruct her faith not out of hurt, but out of a desire for clarity and truth. Navigating that journey as a Black woman in predominantly white spaces came with challenges, but it also led to profound growth and self-discovery. Today, Miah stands on the other side of that process with a deeper relationship with God. She serves on the worship team, remains active in her church community, and continues to advocate for diversity, inclusion, and the empowerment of minorities. This episode is a powerful reminder that faith isn’t fragile. It can withstand our questions and grow even stronger through them.

    I Shouldn’t Be a Pastor… But God Chose Me - Lost & Found Ep. 11 | Laine Berry

    This week on Lost & Found, I had the absolute pleasure of sitting down with Laine Berry, a mother, pastor, and living testimony of God’s grace and redemption. Laine currently pastors at Oasis Church in Los Angeles, and her story is one of honesty, transformation, and unwavering faith. Born into a Christian missionary family, Laine grew up surrounded by faith, but her journey took a turn when her father’s affair shattered her family’s world. Even through the pain, she extended grace. A seed that would later grow into her own deep understanding of God’s forgiveness. As she got older, Laine drifted into the party scene, and life moved quickly an early pregnancy, young relationship and the chaos of trying to balance it all. But it was in the middle of her mess that God met her. After realizing she was repeating the same cycle of brokenness she’d witnessed as a child, Laine made the brave decision to confess to her husband about her own infidelity. Instead of rejection, she was met with grace. From that moment, Laine ran back to church with her children and hasn’t looked back since. Today, she and her husband both serve the Kingdom, using their story to show that no one is too far gone for God to redeem. This episode is raw, redemptive, and a reminder that God can rebuild even what feels completely lost.

    This week on the Lost & Found Podcast, I had the pleasure of sitting down with Jared Mesa A 24-year-old med student and young adults leader at Hillsong Church in LA. Jared shares his powerful testimony of how he came to know Christ, despite not growing up in church. His story began after a school presentation on drinking and driving opened his eyes to the reality of death — and sparked deep questions about eternity. But it wasn’t until college, after a night of heavy drinking that left him passed out, that Jared had a life-changing encounter. In that moment, he heard God’s voice calling him back to consciousness and ultimately to a new life. From that day on, everything shifted. Now, Jared walks boldly in his faith and has felt a clear call to ministry. His story is a reminder that God meets us right where we are — even in the middle of our mess — and transforms our hearts for His purpose.

In her first year of college, an unplanned pregnancy led to an abortion that left her carrying deep shame while trying to maintain the appearance of having it all together through academics and career success. Despite her achievements, anxiety weighed heavily until a friend’s invitation to church changed everything. There, she discovered a safe community, supportive leaders, and a sermon that spoke directly to her situation — the sign she had been asking God for. Now nearly two years into her walk with Christ, Kana reflects on leaving behind the stress of her career, learning to be still in His presence, and trusting Him as He continues to provide.
