"I Hope He's Dead" The 911 Call That Unraveled America's Black Widower | The Thomas Randolph Story

Tommy Randolph called 911 claiming he had just walked into every husband's worst nightmare. He said he found his wife, Sharon, shot on the floor of their Las Vegas home, confronted the masked intruder responsible, and killed him in self-defense. But detectives quickly began questioning nearly every part of his story. In this episode, we examine the evidence that led two separate juries to convict the man prosecutors dubbed the "Black Widower" and why one of those convictions was later overturned. “What Did I Do to Deserve This?” Adults Ordered Groceries While 14-Year-Old Starved to 35 Pounds | Melissa Goodman

When Walter Goodman III called 911 from his Oneida, Wisconsin, home, first responders found his 14-year-old daughter weighing just 35 pounds. As doctors fought to save her life, investigators began uncovering what had been happening inside the home she shared with Walter, Melissa Goodman, Savanna LeFever, and Kayla Stemler. Then police searched the house ... and Melissa’s phone. What they found would lead one prosecutor to call it the worst child neglect case she had seen in nearly 25 years. Listen now on Love and Murder AFTER SHOW AVAILABLE ON PATREON A family gathered at a wake in west London when an argument broke out between cousins Jahmel Joseph and Jordan Rodney. A relative intervened and sent Jahmel home, seemingly ending the confrontation. But shortly before midnight, Jahmel came back ... this time on a motorcycle and carrying a shotgun. Jordan would be dead before the night was over, another family member would be seriously injured, and Jahmel's diagnosis of paranoid schizophrenia would eventually become central to the question of why he returned to that wake armed. “His Brain Had Been Obliterated” The Abuse and Murder of 5-Year-Old Landon | Lauren Maloberti

Landon was adopted into a home that should have protected him. Five-year-old Landon Maloberti was carried into a Pennsylvania hospital unresponsive, with his adoptive parents claiming that he had recently fallen and had been unsteady after COVID. Doctors quickly realized that a simple fall couldn’t explain what they found. As investigators looked deeper, they uncovered allegations of isolation, beatings, food deprivation, threats, and a delay in getting him medical care. This episode follows Landon’s final days and the evidence presented against Lauren Maloberti and her husband. "He Wanted Her to Get Skinny" The Marriage Didn't Survive Her Transformation ... and Neither Did She | Jason Lee

Lindsey Lee had rebuilt her life after separating from her husband. She was thriving, preparing to finalize her divorce, and looking toward a new future. Then she failed to show up for work. What investigators uncovered inside her home, and on her estranged husband's electronic devices, would become the foundation of a murder case built almost entirely on circumstantial evidence, forensic science, and digital clues. In this episode, we examine the investigation, the prosecution's theory of a carefully planned murder, the defense's attempts to dismantle the evidence, and the question that divided the courtroom: did the evidence prove Jason Lee's guilt beyond a reasonable doubt? She Agreed to Final Dinner with Ex; He Assaulted & Murdered Her | Samantha Mickleburgh Case

After ending her engagement, Samantha Mickleburgh thought she was doing one final act of kindness. She agreed to spend a birthday weekend with her ex-fiancé, James Cartwright, before moving on with her life. The next morning, Samantha was dead. What initially appeared to be a tragic and unexplained death inside a luxury hotel room quickly became a murder investigation. As detectives dug into the couple's relationship, they uncovered allegations of obsession, control, jealousy, and a man who refused to accept that the relationship was over. This episode breaks down the death of Samantha Mickleburgh, the evidence that contradicted James Cartwright's story, and the trial that exposed what prosecutors called a web of lies. AFTER SHOW AVAILABLE ON PATREON When emergency responders arrived at a Georgia home for a report of an unresponsive toddler, they expected to investigate a medical emergency. Instead, investigators say they discovered six children living in conditions so disturbing that every room inside the house became part of the investigation. The oldest child, only 10 years old, was allegedly left to care for five younger siblings for hours without food while their mother was away. This episode examines the heartbreaking death of one-year-old, the allegations against his mother,  and the disturbing history investigators say existed long before police arrived that morning.
