Love Update, hosted by Shayna Elliot (MC ‘21) and Auguste White (SY ‘21), is a Yale podcast where people get the chance to tell their love stories: from harrowing tinder tales, to friendaversaries, to soul mates and everything in between. In the style of popular podcast Modern Love, this show is based entirely on audience story submissions and read by different members of the Yale community. Love Update seeks to surface stories from all corners of our campus.
This isn't an advice column or a gossip hotline, we want to hear reflections, memories, and botched-attempts at love past and present. This is a platform for depositing and acquiring perspectives and experiences with love: ephemeral and everlasting, messy and mature. We can’t wait to hear what you have to say.

Love Update: Friendship
That 70’s Show. Sex in the City. A Different World. Golden Girls. Friends. Friendship is the stuff of life, what shapes us, what makes us who we are. We grow because of them, and sometimes we even grow out of them. The love runs deep. In a world of we-should-get-a-meal and awkwardly waving at people you’re 90% sure were your roommate freshman year but can’t tell because of their big coat, Lukas Cox will be featured on this special episode about friendship in the aftermath of a tragedy.

Whether you’ve been broken up with or had to do the deed, it sucks. Breakups mean a whole host of things for different people, the ends of some things, the beginnings of others, maybe they happen prematurely, or maybe they’ve been a long time coming.

Love Update: Dating Apps
Congratulations, You’ve Got Mail! Or, more accurately, since it isn’t the 90’s and you aren’t Meg Ryan, “You have a new match!” This week's topic is dating apps.
Why do we use them? What do they say about college dating and can they be used for more than hookups? This week’s author says yes.
