I “met” Mike when I came across his YouTube review of a 2025 Lucid Air Touring. He had me at the title, “Tesla should be TERRIFIED.” The review delivered; check it out here: Tesla should be TERRIFIED   Mike Caudill has spent more than two decades as a journalist and one of the most recognizable voices covering the transportation industry. A nationally recognized television and radio news personality, he has reported on and analyzed the news of the day for outlets across the country, appearing in thousands of media segments ranging from major national networks to local stations. For years he served as one of the lead automotive reporters for the Fox Sports Automotive Team, and he became a regular expert contributor on Fox News Channel, working the floor at all the major auto shows from Los Angeles and Detroit to Chicago and New York. Over the course of his career, he has covered many of the industry's biggest breaking stories, including the Takata airbag recalls, Cash for Clunkers and the automotive bailout.   His reporting has never been confined to four wheels. Mike is considered an expert contributor on all forms of mainstream transportation, covering automotive, motorcycle, marine and recreational vehicles, and his work spans everything from general news to industry politics. As both an on-camera personality and a longtime public relations professional working with nearly every major vehicle brand, he brings an insider's perspective that few in the field can match. In late 2024, Mike channeled that experience into Chasing Horsepower, a consumer-focused multimedia platform and YouTube channel built on honest, unbiased reviews to help buyers make smarter decisions. Inspired by the magazines he grew up reading, like MotorTrend, Car and Driver and Road & Track, the brand pushes vehicles to their limits and goes beyond cars to cover motorcycles, boats and RVs.     Richard Silva, Owner, 2023 Iridescent ‘Galaxy’ Lucid Air Touring, Owner Eye Kandy Wraps/Eye Kandy Designs

I am delighted to welcome Richard Silva (RJ) Owner, Eye Kandy Wraps www.eyekandywraps.com, and Eye Kandy Designs www.EyeKandyDesigns.com  as my guest on this week’s Lucid Driver podcast.   RJ told me, “I’ve always been into custom vehicles since I was young working on vehicles with my Dad in our garage. I started dating my high school sweetheart in ‘98, married her in’08. Following her medical schooling she ultimately ended up at Mayo Clinic Phoenix/Scottsdale where we now have an 8-year-old girl, 4- and 2-year-old boys. I’ve owned my Eye Kandy Designs business since leaving my Architectural career in 2004 to pursue my own business in graphic design and apparel. Started Eye Kandy Wraps about 6 years ago, technically an addition to Eye Kandy Designs but just wanted to keep the two separates for liability reasons.    When I went to 2023 SEMA (Specialty Equipment Market Association) in Las Vegas I was one of the owners that had preordered in 2022 and received my Air Touring on Feb 14, 2023. I come from a background of customizing vehicles and knew I wanted to do the same with my Lucid before I even got it. Wrapped it in May of 2023 in colored PPF, put it on full air ride suspension and changed the wheels in October 2023 to Vossen 22" wrapped in Lexani Performance tires—just in time to take it to the SEMA show in Las Vegas in November in the Flexishield Booth. Let's just say it was getting more attention than all the other cars in the booth which included a Hamilton collection exotic and Stradman's Lamborghini....not because it was worth more but because it was so unique and the first one in the world (still is) on full air ride suspension and highly customized. The following year 2024 it went again to SEMA under Strada Wheels and actually took the spot of what was supposed to be Shaq's 2-door Air ai it was not completed in time.  I'm one of two Lucid Owners regional leads in the Phoenix, AZ area and help Susanne where I can with the planned owner’s rallies. I have thrown several Lucid's and Lattes which the name came about by Debbie Doll, and I am the one who designed the logo. I've been to the factory for Lucid Family Day for two years, as well as was invited to the Lucid Gravity reveal day where I got my three hood signatures from the executives. I've driven to EV fests two years (missed this last year) and got to hang out with the Cali owners. I personally wrap Airs and Gravity’s with Clear and color PPF as well as vinyl under my Eye Kandy Wraps business.  I also own Eye Kandy Designs which specializes in making unique apparel and laser engraved and printed material which I have made several non-official Lucid merch for Debbie's Lucids and Lattes and ours that we hold here in AZ.     Eddy M, A First for Lucid Driver, A 2-Lucid Gravity Household!

Let me preface by pointing out the podcast has hosted the owner of Lucid Sapphire #34; a couple of owners of both Lucid Air and Lucid Gravity; even a married couple where he had a Lucid Air Grand Touring Dream Edition, and she had a Lucid Gravity Grand Touring Dream Edition! As wonderful as those ownership experiences were for me to bring to the global Lucid community, Eddy represents a new distinction—my first guest who owns two Gravity’s. There can’t be many 2-Gravity household in existence, can there?     Creating Experiences with A Lucid Air Touring as A Limo Driver; We Talk to Bassem-Encore Presentation

I am delighted to welcome this week’s guest on Lucid Driver Podcast.  Bassem, a passionate Lucid Air Touring owner I met on Lucidowners.com. Bassem can offer insights about the Lucid Air that come from a unique perspective versus that of most of us Lucid owners. He uses his Lucid Air as a limousine and spends the majority of his time in his Lucid Air as a professional Limo Driver. However, that’s not the only unique perspective that Bassem can speak from.    Bassem says, “I am a firm believer in Lucid from several perspectives. I am always eager to find relevant content especially since you are a seasoned Podcaster, you know there is an audience that is eager to learn more beyond press releases from real people sharing their content. I do share your passions as I have arrived at a similar conclusion to you. My journey with EV's began in 2013 when I purchased a Tesla Model S. Naturally, it was a revolutionary new vehicle platform back then and I have enjoyed it. Since then, I have driven multiple EV’s, so my opinions have had time to mature and for me to understand the nature of driving, owning and taking the time to enjoy an EV. Being also a former Tesla employee working on Battery Systems, it did not take long for me to recognize once Lucid released their Vehicle Architecture alongside actual battery and motor components, that they really took the time to design functional pieces of art that propels the Air.    Bassem says, “On the ride home, it would be safe to say, that from Motown to Al Green to Harold Melvin and the Blue Notes make a regular appearance. The ride home is always challenging one, as you realize you've been running on an adrenaline high for the past 10 plus hours, along side all the different conversations and personalities encountered.     Debbie Doll, An Original Lucid “Super Fan,” 2022 Lucid Air Grand Touring-Encore Presentation

Debbie, one of Lucid’s original “Super fans” since 2020, drives a 2022 Zenith Red/Tahoe lucid Air Grand Touring on 21” wheels. Debbie is very active in the official Owners Club through Lucid (she is the Northern California Regional Lead). Debbie is also an admin in a few of the Facebook groups for Lucid Owners.  Debbie lives in the East Bay area of California.     Michael Moy, Lucid Air Touring Owner, Co-Worker of the Tesla Founders-Encore

    Send us Fan Mail This is an encore episode. Hello, Lucid fans! I am delighted to welcome Michael Moy as my guest on this week’s Lucid Driver podcast. What a story Michael has! He told me, “I retired several years ago after 30 years at various startup companies. I worked with and for Martin Eberhard and Marc Tarpenning [the founders and original executives of Tesla] at three high tech startups. Here’s their story: https://www.cnbc.com/video/2021/02/06/how-tesla-was-founded-martin-eberhard-and-marc-tarpenning-tell-all.html in case this is news to you as it is to many people.   Needless to say—I was an early Tesla watcher but from afar. The idea had always been when Tesla opened a New York location—I’d try to get in. But by the time that happened Elon had fired all but one or two people I had worked with. I never did buy a Tesla though I put money down on a Model 3. The last person I knew at Tesla—ended up going to Atieva/Lucid—so I watched to see what she was doing. The Lucid Air was unveiled in 2017 at the NY auto show with a starting price of $60K. The all-glass roof and reclining executive rear seats won me over. This was the car for me. Needless to say, when the car came out at $169K in 2021—I had sticker shock for sure! I ended up ordering the Air Touring in June ‘22 and took delivery on Valentine’s Day 2023. So, 26 months and 40K miles later – I still love the car. It’s my first EV and I’ve set a very high bar for any car I buy in the future. I have been to almost all the Lucid studio and service centers from Tyson Corner to Natick and Boston Seaport. I’ve been to over a dozen lucid events and rallies. I drove from NJ to Tampa and back in 4 days. Absolutely no issues charging the car along 95. Stayed at two hotels with free chargers but otherwise all Electrify America stations. As an active member of the NJ Electric Vehicle Association I’ve attended over a dozen Drive Electric and First Responder events in NJ and PA.”   You may recall on Lucid Driver podcast Episode 6 Josh, where guest Josh discussed his Lucid Air Grand Touring appearing in the Netflix miniseries Black Rabbit, set in the New York night club scene starring Jude Law and Jason Bateman. Well Michael’s Air appeared as the double for Josh’s car. Josh’s car was used for the exterior shots and Michael’s car was used for the interior shots.
