The machine could tell, from just a sample of your blood, how you were going to die. No date, no specifics: it just spat out a sliver of paper upon which were printed the words CANCER or OLD AGE or CHOKED ON A HANDFUL OF POPCORN.

One of my favorites back when podcasts were new, before PseudoPod, before Nocturnal Transmission's - Machine Of Death was an early fiction anthology podcast based around the simple premise of a machine that spits out your enigmatically predicted cause of death on a simple piece of paper. All predictions come true, but not quite as simply as they are stated on the paper Many talented writers made fascinating variations on that theme. If you want to experience a fiction podcast of real quality from the Way Back Of the form’s beginnings,, you won’t go wrong with Machine of Death.

Something thought provoking and completely original! Almonds left me with goose bumps! My gosh... I'm going to search for and order the book to read on car trips! Keep them coming & put it on tv!
