    Identity, Visibility & Voices

Made Possible — Episode 2: Identity, Visibility & Voices A Parkview Originals podcast, hosted by Rachel Dyson Weaving together voices, experience and skills — both in front of and behind the camera — is where production comes into its power. Done well, the brand creative we deliver can have real-world impact, playing a clear role in empowering people's sense of identity and self-belief. In this episode, we explore how brands can be genuinely inclusive, offering space and platform for a multitude of voices.  Rachel is joined by two friends and long-time Parkview Creative collaborators: photographer and filmmaker Rory Langdon-Down, and writer-director Fabia Martin. In this episode, they explore: How brands can work with talent in ways that let real voices shine through — and why collaboration matters more than control when it comes to great creativityThe making of Six for Gold, Rory and Fabia's documentary following TeamSOGB rhythmic gymnast Ellie-Bea Thomas as she trained for and competed at the Special Olympics in BerlinWhy a mindset open to mistakes — and to broadening your understanding —is so important in creative workThe power of real stories, and what it means to genuinely empower people in the creative process About the guests Rory is an award-winning photographer and filmmaker whose work is rooted in human connection. Originally trained as a broadcast journalist, he found his way behind the lens through film before discovering portrait photography during the pandemic. In 2021, Rory created Portrait A Day — 365 portraits of strangers, published daily on Instagram. The project won the British Journal of Photography’s Portrait of Humanity award, was featured in The Guardian, and became a limited-edition book. His work with North London football team North London United saw two portraits shortlisted for the Taylor Wessing Prize at the National Portrait Gallery, with another shortlisted for the Portrait of Britain Award. Rory believes a photograph is made on both sides of the camera, through collaboration with the subject. He mentors young adults with learning difficulties through Fair Shot and works as a photography consultant for the Down’s Syndrome Association. His great-great-grandfather, Dr John Langdon Down, established one of the earliest progressive care communities for people with intellectual disabilities — a legacy that continues to inform Rory’s work. Fabia Martin is an award-winning director and writer driven by a belief that the stories most worth telling are often the ones left untold. She began her career in factual development on projects for the BBC, Channel 4 and Vice before moving into directing, making films for Google, Nike, Samsung and Dove with a focus on real people, fresh perspectives and a bright comedic edge. Her BFI-supported short The Rev, a comedy about a gay Dorset vicar in the midst of an identity crisis, premiered at the London Film Festival, screened internationally and was highly commended at the IRIS Prize. Her debut feature Underdogs, starring Alisha Weir, is currently in production. Fabia is a BAFTA Connect member and part of the Directors UK Inspire Mentorship Scheme. She has collaborated with photographer and filmmaker Rory Langdon-Down on several projects, including Six for Gold, which she directed with Rory behind the camera. 🎧 Listen here or watch on YouTube. Brands In Culture

Episode 1: Brands In Culture "If you're on trend, there's a very high risk of being off trend very quickly. Being part of culture is being part of people's lives." — Jordanne Young, Enid What does it actually mean to be a brand in culture? It's a question clients bring to briefs constantly — and one the industry doesn't always answer honestly, or at least clearly. In our first episode of Made Possible, Parkview Creative founder Rachel Dyson sits down with two brand specialists who grapple with this question every day. Guests Hannah Jones-Walters is a multilingual strategic and creative thinker whose career spans brand marketing, cultural strategy and community building across agencies and in-house brand teams. She has held leadership roles at design agency 20Something and as Managing Director at KesselsKramer London, and most recently served as European Marketing Manager for wellness brand Ancient & Brave. She is Chair of UN//SCENE, the creative festival dedicated to fresh thinking and new voices in the industry. Jordanne Young is a brand strategist, marketing consultant and founder of Enid, her brand amplification studio. She has helped shape, launch and grow brands including The Modern House, Hummingway, Heist and WellJoy, working closely with founders and leadership teams to build culturally resonant strategies that last. In this episode we cover: What culture actually means — and why it's harder to define now than everThe difference between being on trend and being part of someone's lifeWhy good strategy is fundamental when you need to move fastHow brands build content engines — and whether they shouldThe case for longer, braver creative ideas over short-lived campaignsWhy the people in the room matter as much as the briefWhether a brand can genuinely shape culture — or can only be riding the wave 🎧 Listen now on [Apple Podcasts / Spotify / wherever you get your podcasts] Made Possible is a Parkview Creative original podcast.
