Like Jesus taught, we need to have a child-like dependency upon God rather than self-righteously patting ourselves on the back and telling ourselves how great we are for having figured out bitcoin before other people do.

    It’s good and right to see and care about sin out there in the world. But when we condemn others we are also, in a sense, condemning ourselves, since all people (not just some) are sinful and to know oneself truly is also to know oneself as a sinner before God. To the extent that we know God, we begin more and more by facing our own sin than with facing the sins of others. Indeed, sins of the spirit (such as pride and self-righteousness) are dramatically worse than sins of the flesh (such as materialism and consumerism) – bitcoiners should take heed lest they become so focused on fleshly sins out there in the world that they not only neglect their own spiritual sins but even embrace them or wear them as a badge of honor.
