Although in a lot of ways I politically align with Aubrey and Micheal, I think that they, unfortunately, vastly misrepresent the research they discuss on this show. They desperately need to bring in expert opinions and fact checkers, because they don’t actually seem to understand how to properly communicate the complex science they are discussing. I liked this podcast a lot better when they roasted diet books, but even then they didn’t fully understand what they were discussing. I would recommend that any listeners take this podcast with a grain of salt because it is rife with misleading information. There are so many other podcasts that take on the issues discussed here in much better ways. Podcasts that actually stay in their lane of expertise and knowledge, and if needed they bring in experts to discuss complex and multifaceted topics. Unbiased Science, Front Page Fitness, Barbell medicine all do it so much better than MP, and the hosts are far more educated with doctorate degrees. MP should only be used for entertainment, not facts! I strongly recommend following up each episode with The Maintenance Phase Reality Check substack series, as it adds a lot of the nuance and science based commentary that MP so desperately needs.
