    001: Why I Started ZimXcite

Welcome to the debut episode of the Make A Plan Podcast with Ryan Koriya, founder of ZimXcite, the culture fashion brand connecting Zimbabweans across the world and inviting other global communities to join in on the Zimbabwean collective spirit. In this honest and energetic episode, Ryan tells the story of how ZimXcite was built on the magical island of Ibiza, Spain, during the 2020 lockdown. From his upbringing in Harare’s Belvedere suburb to his years at Belvedere Junior School and Prince Edward High School, Ryan shares how Zimbabwean education, culture and community shaped his values of resilience and creativity. Paying homage to teaching legends such as Prince Edward headmaster Clive Barnes and legendary Musical Director Ava Rogers. You’ll hear about his passion for aviation which led him to join the Zimbabwe Air Corps, his experiences with the shoolc choirs, national orchestras, drama festivals, and even studying Latin, all forming the cultural backbone of what ZimXcite represents today.  Ryan also shares reflections on being born in 1980, the year Zimbabwe gained independence, and why connecting the global Zimbabwean diaspora through language, humour and nostalgia matters now more than ever. Plus, there is a giveaway at the end you won’t want to miss. Listen in to celebrate Zimbabwean spirit, heritage and that unstoppable drive to make a plan. 🎧 Find this episode on your favourite podcast app or at www.ZimXcite.com You can also follow us on Instagramhttps://www.instagram.com/zimxcite.official/ Facebookhttps://www.facebook.com/ZimXcite YouTubehttps://www.youtube.com/@zimxcite Podcast Soundtrack: Who Am I by Ryan KoriyaListen Here: http://bit.ly/Play-RK-WhoAmI
