    Malcolm vs King

    Malcolm vs King

“The white man pays...subsidizes Reverend Martin Luther King so that [he] can teach the negroes to be defenseless. That's what you mean by ‘non-violent,’ to be defenseless, to be defenseless against one of the most cruel beasts that have ever taken people into captivity. That's the American white man.” -Malcolm X
Phillip and Taelor discuss Malcolm’s harsh criticism of Dr. King’s philosophy of nonviolence. Where was Malcolm right (or fair) in his criticisms? What role did region and context play in these comments? We also discuss how Malcolm and Martin's perspectives about each other's philosophy would evolve overtime.

I learned a lot!

Two smart, engaging Christian leaders share their thoughts about this chronically misunderstood, misrepresented historical figure. Drop your preconceptions about Malcom, enter with an open mind and you’ll be enriched by this podcast.

🔥Very good, worth your time, intellectually honest

I didn’t know anything about Malcom X (other than caricatures from tv/film). And I didn't know anything about Phillip Holmes or Taelor Gray. I saw this recommended on twitter and give it a shot. Each episode of season 1 was profitable for me. I learned more about Malcom and the converstation is very nuanced and intellectually honest.

Thanks for producing this show. I almost never write reviews for podcasts but I really hope more people will find your show and benefit from it as much as I have. Oh, and I started following host Phillip Holmes on twitter and I would recommend others do that as well.

👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾 Bravo!!!

Excellent podcast!!!! This was a rich exploration into the thoughts and perspectives of Malcolm X. Soo much was explored, but it also left me hungry to continue learning on my own. Podcast hosts did a beautiful job of humanizing X and peeling away the layers of the caricature that we have been fed about his philosophy and his contribution to America. Can’t wait to hear more and continue to understand. Now off to go read the Autobiography. Bravo Phillip and Taelor!!!!
