Found this actually looking for a different podcast but it’s actually quite enjoyable! Super random topics with some weird/hot takes but a lot of fun to listen to

Canning peaches, canning, salsa, putting up tomato juice, canning, peach, jam, strawberry, jam, making bread, grinding wheat. When I’m in the kitchen doing my jobs Gibson and Mandy are my favorite thing to listen to! It makes my Canning jobs go along easy and their lighthearted fun gives me a good laugh and I can get my work done at the same time. Thank you, Gibson and Mandy!

Let me tell you a story. I like to look around for random pod casts that have virtually 0 following and boy did I find one. Yes, this one is new so that’s understandable. I like to search for pod casts with the same name as myself to see if anything cool shows up. Anyway, I was having the worst day of my entire life. The morning of the 15th (the day after valentines day) I woke up to a text from my then 3-year girlfriend that I was about to propose to, that she was leaving me. I spent $500 literally the day before on cusom boots she always wanted. Crushed my 28yo heart. So, shattered and dismayed I go to work. At about 4:50 my boss calls me in to his office and hands me the pink slip. It destroyed me. I was driving home in disbelief, completely lost in thought. What snapped me out of it was the airbag. I had rear ended the car infant of me. I stumbled out of my car to hear screams from onlookers. The driver of the car I hit was screaming at me at the top of his lungs. I noticed that mine was not the only accident. There was a commotion up ahead. I was just around the corner from my house and was worried it was someone I knew. When I stumbled up to the crowd, I found my dog Scout, laying in the street. He had somehow gotten out of the house and into the street and was struck and killed by a car. Words cannot describe the pain. I’ll spare the details but I made it home a few hours later after talking to officials for far too long. Now, single, jobless, carless and friendless I sat on my couch with only the soul crushing weight of loss as company. I decided to go on a routine look for a next-to-nothing podcast because I couldn’t think of anything better to do my life. I searched up my last name and this podcast showed up. It was only their first episode. I decided to listen because I had literally nothing else to do with my life. Something about Gibson and Mandy talking about greeting cards pulled me out a dark and depressive spiral. The lightheartedness they had about such an insignificant topic was the exact uplift I needed. I was laughing for almost the entire 39 minutes and 13 seconds of that first episode. Afterwards I cried for hours and hours into the night all the while thinking about greeting cards. The best part of all of this is that on Friday morning the 17th I opened up my mail box and saw a letter from my grandmother. It was a Get Well Soon card with $30 inside.
