    Ep.7- Who, Not How with Laura Garfield

    Every so often you sit down with someone and realize you've been quietly running the same playbook in two different lanes, she does video, I do LinkedIn, and the whole conversation just turns into "yes, exactly, THIS." That's my episode with Laura Garfield, co-founder of Idea Decanter and the woman who introduced me to Mitch Slater and genuinely changed the trajectory of my business. I owe her. The line that stuck with me most: "Who, not how." Laura shared a story from Dan Sullivan's book about a CEO who tried to sell his own business without any experts, tanked the deal, and then, after finally learning to bring in the right people, went and fell off his own roof in retirement because he still wouldn't call a guy. The universe will make you learn the lesson. So stop trying to clone yourself and go find your who. We also got into the thing nobody warns you about when you're starting out: say yes to almost everything for the first couple of years, then find the guts to start saying no. That's how you actually niche down. Laura and her partner pivoted from making videos for wineries (yep that's where the name Idea Decanter comes from) to owning one of the hardest, most regulated corners of the market: financial services.     Ep.6– Know Where Your Clients Are Right Now

    People keep asking me the same question: how did you go from one client to $300,000 in two years? Here's the honest answer — networking. Not the cringey, transactional kind. The real kind. So this is the straight-advice episode where I break down exactly how to do it. It starts with the single most important thing in your entire business: knowing exactly who your ideal client is. Not just the psychographics (are they open to the work?) but the demographics too — age, stage, income, geography, job title. I tell the story of the guy with a massage studio in Utah who wanted to target a married NYC executive… and why I had to laugh and ask if he thought the man was flying in for monthly massages. Once you know your person, you draw a circle around them and ask one deceptively simple question: where are these people right now? Then you go there — associations, social clubs, the nicest gym in town, run clubs (yes, even though I hate running), masterminds, galas. Sometimes you have to buy your way into the right rooms, and I'll tell you why that's an investment, not an expense. (Also: do NOT volunteer — you want to work the room, not work the event.) I also get into the follow-up system that turned 400 hallway conversations into an email list, why "no new friends" is a terrible mindset for an entrepreneur, and how the right networking can fund the mission you actually care about. Know your person, know where they are, then go show up — for real. P.S.     Ep.4- Feeling Sexy Is Not Abandoning Yourself

    Going back through the old episodes, our #2 most-streamed of all time was called "Feel Sexy" — and rewatching it, I realized I never actually said the thing I meant.  So here's the redo. Feeling sexy has nothing to do with how much you spend on yourself. Real self-care isn't consumerism or a weekly massage — it's not abandoning yourself. I've been single for most of 15 years, so I started treating myself the way I treat the people I love: I literally ask myself, "baby girl, what do you need?" and then I go get it.  Coffee, a nap, a hard boundary — whatever the most loving action is. That's the filter for everything: what's the highest degree of love I can give myself right now? Sometimes that's booking the massage and the sitter. Sometimes it's NOT spending money you don't have. And when you do it on repeat, you build trust with yourself — the kind that lets you make scary business decisions and know you'll be okay, because you won't abandon you.  I also get into Shelby Sapp's "don't double-dip the dopamine days" rule, why everyone is always selling something, performative hot girl energy, the insane beauty standards where I live, and how it took me a full year to sit on the couch and do nothing without guilt.  As soon as the "shoulds" show up, that's your sign. We met at SWAY (shoutout to Sheri Fitts), and she's one of those friends where no time has to pass; we just pick right back up.  Theresa spent 25 years building a business in financial services, sold it, and is now living proof of something I needed to hear: success is how YOU measure it, not what the world decides for you.     Ep.2– You Can't Take Everyone With You

    This is my first full-length solo episode of the relaunch, and I wanted to get honest about something nobody warns you about when you actually start going after your bliss life: not everyone gets to come with you.  I went back and listened to our #1 most-streamed episode — the very first one we ever launched, almost three years ago — and so much has changed. Kira and I don't talk anymore.  I stopped working with Dad Boss and built my own thing. And I've made peace with what Mel Robbins nails: friendship comes down to age, stage, and proximity — and stage is the one that quietly ends things. People come for a reason and a season, and when you're on a fast growth trajectory, the timelines stop lining up.  So here's the reframe I'm living by: treat your friendships like a sales pipeline. Stay with me. If I want clients, I know exactly where to go find them — so why leave my friendships to chance? I made a list of the places where the women I want in my life actually are (leadership clubs, business owner groups, masterminds, even a concert where a fellow entrepreneur complimented my outfit) and I started showing up on purpose.  I also get into the self-check I run all day long ("What do you need, baby girl?"), why I block-and-delete the "don't get your hopes up" energy — we're here for the delulu — and how a 10-year plan turned into a two-and-a-half-year one once I got in line with what I'm actually meant to do. If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together — just know it won't always be the same people.
