    How do you grow your brand and your network? BUILD RELATIONSHIPS! This episode's guest is an expert in this very thing and it has translated to great success, including having a podcast "Now Hear This Entertainment" that is a top 2% podcast in the world. Bruce Wawrzyniak has been promoting for many years.  A cum laude graduate of Medaille College in Buffalo, New York, his background runs the gamut from marketing to broadcasting to public/media relations and promotions.  He has served industries such as sports/entertainment, radio/TV (on-air positions in both), and full-service (advertising/public relations) agencies.  He also taught a Promotions Techniques course to college juniors and seniors.  Bruce has dealt with (and been quoted by) national and international media.  Some of his successful story placements include USA Today, The Wall Street Journal, and Sports Illustrated, to name just a few.  His résumé also includes video work and websites.  Plus, he has done numerous speaking engagements from Orlando to Nashville to Washington DC to Las Vegas to Los Angeles and points in between.  His work over the years has not only taken him throughout the United States, but, to more than 15 different countries.  He is a member of the Social Media Marketing Society and the American Marketing Association and can even be found on IMDb. “Now Hear This Entertainment” is a weekly podcast featuring interviews with guests who are having success in entertainment – primarily music.  A new episode has been delivered on-time, every week since February 2014.  The show has gotten listeners from 162 countries around the world and is one of the top two percent most popular shows out of more than 3.1 million podcasts globally.  “Now Hear This Entertainment” has had multiple placements in the iTunes Top Ten (Music category) and the show has received two honors and been nominated for three other awards. In late spring of 2021 it was in the "20 Best Entertainment Podcasts of 2021," as published by Welp Magazine.     Teen Brewer to Sochu Expert

    Beer, wine, whiskey, bourbon, vodka, rum, tequila, and gin represent most of the traditional alcohol consumed in this country, either straight or as a key ingredient in our favorite cocktail. However, there is a whole other spirits category that is Japan's greatest secret. It is not sake, but rather an incredibly diverse spirit named sochu. On this episode I speak with Christopher Pellegrini, who started out brewing American beer in Vermont and now lives in Japan where his mission is to pull back the curtain on this type of spirit - for the world's enjoyment! Christopher Pellegrini cut his teeth in alcohol as a teen brewer at Otter Creek Brewing Company in Middlebury, Vermont. He discovered shochu and awamori after moving to Tokyo while he was a full-time professor at Waseda University. In 2014, he published the first ever English language guide to shochu and awamori, The Shochu Handbook. He also contributed to The Oxford Companion to Spirits & Cocktails, published in 2021. Christopher launched Honkaku Spirits in March 2020 (great timing, huh?) with the mission of bringing intensely artisanal Japanese spirits to discerning consumers worldwide. He also co-hosts two podcasts focused on the education of Japanese spirits: Japan Distilled and Sake on Air. Fluent in English and Japanese (conversational in Spanish and Korean), Christopher’s contribution to increasing global knowledge of Japanese spirits continues to shape opinion on this burgeoning category.

My next guest, Kelsey Knutson, was that person until she got unstuck and started taking messy action. Now she helps others do the same.  The 9-5 life just wasn’t for her, so she started a business… and struggled to figure out what was for her. She has worked in many industries and has launched multiple businesses. But most importantly, she's constantly reassessing her “why” and using that as a guiding force in how she makes decisions.
