Antonio Brissa, co-founder of ASPRIVA, joins host Tancredi Cordero on Mastery & Makers. Prefer to watch? Full video version on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fwMPuoj-MpU Antonio built a career in enterprise software, venture capital, and corporate leadership, through SAP and the 2008 financial crisis, before walking away for a harder, slower problem: how to help people live healthier for longer. In this conversation he traces that arc back to a Heidelberg childhood spent in a deeply intellectual household, and forward to ASPRIVA, the longevity and wellness company he co-founded. Shaped, in roughly equal measure, by a philosopher father and years of competitive rugby, Antonio has spent his career circling one conviction: that excellence is a discipline, not an accident. He and Tancredi get into leadership and team culture, resilience under pressure, and what it actually takes to build with purpose and create a business that lasts rather than one that simply scales. Then the conversation turns to science. Antonio lays out the foundations of health optimisation, from sleep and recovery to nutrition, and his core argument is blunt: long-term health is built on consistent habits, not quick fixes, and much of what the supplement industry sells is undermined by poor absorption and opaque sourcing. He explains what scientific transparency and ingredient quality really mean, and why they separate a serious product from a well-marketed one. A thoughtful, wide-ranging conversation on longevity, entrepreneurship, culture, performance, and the long, unglamorous work of getting better. Topics discussed: From SAP and venture capital to entrepreneurship- Leadership, team culture and high performance- How philosophy and an intellectual upbringing shape excellence- Italian creativity vs German precision- The science of longevity and wellness- Sleep, recovery and behavioural health- The truth about supplements and ingredient quality- Building ASPRIVA and creating science-backed products Chapters 00:01 - Living a Life Without Regrets01:00 - From SAP to Longevity 02:31 - Growing Up in Heidelberg 05:56 - The Influence of a Philosopher Father 11:47 - The End of Mediocrity 15:47 - Italy vs Germany: Culture & Creativity 23:29 - Career Evolution: Finance to Operations 36:58 - Navigating the 2008 Financial Crisis 42:26 - Lessons from Rugby & Team Building 48:02 - SAP, Acquisitions & Corporate Politics 52:21 - Discovering the Longevity Space 55:16 - Sleep, Exercise & Foundational Health 01:03:03 - The Truth About the Supplement Industry 01:13:01 - Building ASPRIVA: Scientific Purity 01:23:41 - Innovation in Supplement Delivery 01:34:07 - Environmental Toxins & Modern Health 01:47:23 - Rapid Fire: Three Space Luxuries ▶ Watch full video on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fwMPuoj-MpU ▶ Subscribe to Mastery & Makers: https://www.youtube.com/@MasteryandMakers?sub_confirmation=1 ▶ Connect with Antonio Brissa & ASPRIVA: https://www.linkedin.com/in/brissa/ and https://aspriva.com/en ▶ Connect with Tancredi Cordero di Montezemolo: www.linkedin.com/in/zhm #MasteryAndMakers #AntonioBrissa #Longevity #ASPRIVA #Wellness #Entrepreneurship #Leadership #Biohacking #TancrediCordero #Longevity #Biohacking #Wellness #HealthOptimisation #SupplementScience #HumanPerformance #Entrepreneurship #Leadership #ASPRIVA #MasteryAndMakers #AntonioBrissa #TancrediCordero #LuxuryStrategy #FashionFinance #InheritedAndInvented #BrandBuilding #ExperientialLuxury #RalphLauren #Hermes #LuxuryLeadership #StorytellingBrands #FutureOfLuxury

Mastery & Makers: Inside the creative world of Johannes Torpe

From hippie, to Bang & Olufsen Chief Creative, to Denmark’s Future Trains: Johannes Torpe on Design, Creativity, and Luxury. What happens when creativity is shaped by intuition, not education and brands are built through curiosity, compromise, and long-term thinking instead of rules? In this episode of Mastery & Makers, Tancredi Cordero di Montezemolo speaks with Johannes Torpe, founder of Johannes Torpe Studios and former Group Creative Director at Bang & Olufsen, in a conversation recorded in Copenhagen, about creativity built through intuition, brand building without rules, and what design looks like when it must serve millions of people for decades. Johannes reflects on an unconventional start: raised in a hippie commune, largely self-taught, learning to read and write later in life. Rather than limiting him, that “outside-the-system” path shaped a creative confidence: question norms, ignore false rules, and keep curiosity alive. Music becomes a through-line, rhythm, improvisation, collaboration, informing how he leads teams as a conductor, not a manager. We also explore the realities of building and protecting heritage brands, the unique pressure of designing for companies that feel publicly “owned,” and why technology-heavy brands face different constraints than craft-based maisons. The conversation then expands to one of Denmark’s largest public infrastructure initiatives: designing Denmark’s future trains. Johannes explains why responsible design is often quiet, rooted in light, acoustics, materials, ergonomics, and durability, and how long-term thinking changes every decision. Key themes Creativity without credentials: doing vs studying Bang & Olufsen, heritage, and national identity Designing for scale: public projects and human behaviour Scale vs quality, independence vs capital Luxury reframed: time, freedom, experience, longevity Parenthood, responsibility, and what endures A reflective, unvarnished conversation on building meaningful work, and lasting value, through compromise, experimentation, and long-term vision. ▶ Watch the full video on YouTube https://youtu.be/vANU-nZc6RI?si=I09Wnb158ypDDtLW ▶ Subscribe to Mastery & Makers for conversations on excellence, entrepreneurship, creativity, and modern luxury and the people behind it https://www.youtube.com/@masteryandmakers?sub_confirmation=1 ▶ Connect with Johannes Torpe https://www.linkedin.com/in/johannestorpe/ Johannes Torpe Studios www.johannestorpe.com ▶ Follow Tancredi Cordero di Montezemolo www.linkedin.com/in/zhm #JohannesTorpe #BangAndOlufsen #DanishDesign #ScandinavianDesign #ProductDesign #IndustrialDesign #BrandStrategy #Branding #CreativeDirector #DesignLeadership #HeritageBrands #Luxury #ModernLuxury #Creativity #Intuition #SelfTaught #MusicAndCreativity #DenmarkDesign #PublicDesign #InfrastructureDesign #Ergonomics #Acoustics #MaterialInnovation #LongTermThinking #MasteryAndMakers #TancrediCordero
