These people live off the water basin that feeds the region’s wells, but this basin is nearing depletion due to water scarcity and human interventions that worsened the drought crisis, along with an ongoing war that used water as weapons.     Lebanon has witnessed the return of the Cholera disease, A disease the Lebanese thought had disappeared years ago. The Infrastructure deterioration and the intermingling of sewage with  drinking water have reintroduced dangerous diseases to the region, including cholera. Bushra Abdelsamad visited polluted hotspots in north Lebanon specifically in the Bebnin area, which witnessed the highest infection rates.

The agricultural lands in the cities and regions of the Nile Delta are the most fertile and of the highest quality. However, the rise in sea levels leads to an increase in soil salinity, adversely affecting the agriculture sector and its quality. Hadeel Al-Mahdawi visited Alexandria and met with its farmers.
