Amazing show

Please be aware - there are major podcast spoilers ahead.

This show presents itself as a mediocre podcast that features off-the-cuff conversations between a few freinds, but the interesting reality is that this show is heavily produced and every word is scripted. It seems that most listeners do not understand this. However, knowing that this is a scripted show only adds another layer of depth to the show. Once you understand that this is a scripted show, you'll start noticing the high production value and the artful scripts perfected by the talented writing staff and delivered by great voice actors. This is the best mockumentary podcast you'll ever find.

The show started the Patreon model almost 10 years ago, and named the donors "Scorpions of Support". The hosts say that you can give any amount you'd like, but the reality is that you begin to get specific rewards for giving large monthly donations. For example, At the $200/month level, the shows scripted nature is revealed to Scorpions of Support and they are sent videos of each writers meeting.

Scorpions donating at least $1000/month gain access to videos of the writers long-term plot development meetings. In these meetings, the Scorpions can listen to the writers discussing major plot points that may not happen for months.

"Eric" and "Frank" are both played by voice actors. While it is mentioned on the show that "Eric" owns and runs the show, it's actually owned and operated by Time-Warner. The voice actors that play "Eric" and "Frank" have nothing to do with the show aside from voice acting.

The entire show is scripted, even the "callers". The "callers" are just more voice actors portraying characters created by the writing staff. New members of the writing staff are in charge of writing the "caller" character skits, and these voice mail skits are often performed one after another in the show. Due to frequent senior writers strikes, the novice writing staff often had to write the entire show which lead to frequent "this-or-that" segments that relied heavily upon callers. These episodes were mostly written in the voicemail format that the novice writers were used to, but lacked many of the fart-and-boner conversations perfected by the senior writing staff.

As a $1000/month Scorpion of Support, I have access to the developing plot lines. I probably shouldn't be revealing unreleased plot-lines, but I don't think they actually know how to delete reviews, so whatever, spoilers ahead. "Eric" will do a show with former co-host "Matt Kittensparks" (the Kittensparks name originated from an integrated ad campaign with the EverReady batteries). "Frank", the current co-host, will become very upset and will claim that the Kittensparks episode was better than anything he could have done. This will eventually erode the relationship between "Eric" and "Frank". At the same time, "Eric" will be featured on the Mighty Blue podcast and the two will have immediate chemistry. This will lead to the integration of the mediocre show and the Mighty Blue podcast as "Frank's" contract runs out. This is all in a push for a more synergetic host pairing for the upcomming REI sponsorship deal.

I've been listening to this podcast for half of my life, something like 15 years. It's a great show. 5/5.

More than mediocre

Good enough to be a part of my life for the last 15 years. Through it’s many iterations, it has remained consistent. Mr Tomorrow and his co-hosts have shared the ups and downs of every day life in a way that paralleled my own, in the most entertaining way possible. Thank you guys for all you do, and keeping me sane throughout the years.

THE Mediocre Show!

The only mediocre podcast you need to listen to! All others are weak! Eric,Frank, and sometimes Pat are the best for keeping you entertained. Wether it’s yard chores or just quarantining from the Rona it will get you through. I believe it’s the cure but hey I’m no doctor. Love ya guys
Agnostic Curt.
