025: Educating Our Children on Money Management: A conversation with Raeshal Solomon of My Little Banker

In this week’s episode, we amplify the voice of the Money Mompreneur, Raeshal Solomon. Raeshal is an author, speaker, and podcast host passionate about equipping parents with the resources to promote sound money practices with their children.
Several years ago Raeshal got started on her financial journey by doing what young adults do; she destroyed her credit. As a long-time student of financial management, Raeshal had to learn the hard way that money doesn’t grow on trees. She invested her time reading books on financial management, speaking to financial advisors, and stockbrokers discussing the ins and outs of moving capital. With all this knowledge one would think old habits would have changed, but not so. It took the birth of her son Nathan and the adoption of her nephew Brenden to modify the way Raeshal handled her money. It occurred to her that if her behavior didn’t change, her boys would begin to pick up her bad habits. Guided by her desire to break the cycle with her sons, My Little Banker was created with the goal in mind to teach money lessons to children. Raeshal has written over 20 books in the series.
Expanding her reach beyond her literary works, Raeshal also devotes her time speaking.  She visits elementary schools where she reads her books and answers questions about money and the writing process. She speaks to parents on topics like “How to teach your child about money,” and “How to move forward from your past to create a financial legacy?” She is quoted in the press and interviewed on several podcasts and online platforms.
Her latest venture has taken her to the digital media space with her own podcast -- PodKash Kids. On the show, kids ask their money questions and share their opinions on the topic.
Listen in as we share with Raeshal about her desire to change a whole generation through financial literacy while equipping parents with the knowledge to provide money lessons with their children.
     What you'll learn:
How her own personal story became the catalyst for her financial literacy brand. Why it is so important to teach money concepts to children. How to have the money conversation with children in various stages of life. Practical money management tips and practices to apply & incorporate with your child. What's next for My Little Banker & PodKash Kids
