Mommy-ing During a Depressive Episode- A Chat with Kimberly Ojo
Truth is even mamas who have not been diagnosed with depression have days where parenting is down right difficult. Sometimes managing our own emotions, thoughts and feelings can be enough and then add parenting to that. I don't know about you but I want to build strong healthy relationships with my children, in order to do so I need practical ways to take care of my mental health. Today, Kimberly is going to share with us how she is able to show up for herself so she can show up for her children. I learned a lot in this interview and I hope you will too!
Kimberly has written an amazing resource to help manage depression from a preventative lens. Find her Ebook at http://www.being-kimberly.myshopify.com

Finding Joy in Injustice with Amanda Gorman
Where all my allies at!?!? This week I was able to sit down with Amanda Gorman, of the Finding your Village Podcast, and talk about allyship and finding joy while doing so.
We chat about why it is so uncomfortable for white women to ask for help or to admit they don't have all the answers, here we give freedom to show up and confront some of this misconceptions. We also chat about putting down perfection and picking up the mantle of diving in and doing the real work.
Racial reconciliation will move the needle in our lives and cause us to move toward real relationship. Join Amanda and I work to connect on a deeper level. Find Amanda here http://www.instagram.com/findingyourvillage
Amanda and I talked about a presentation by Lisa Sharon Haper and Jen Hatmaker called White Women's Toxic Tears, find the link below and take a look at it. https://youtu.be/WCc7DS5_s0U
This list of Anti-Racism tools is soooo good! Get into this work.

Don't just Be Kind, Be Changed
I have been hearing a lot about being kind as we deal with tons of social injustice and racially charged issues....hey y'all just like respect is just a minimum, so is kindness!
How can we move past kindness and into heart work. There is so much work to do friends, let's be open to moving forward in the areas that are going to move the needle. Below I am listening a few places you can go to learn more about pushing past kind.

Let's talk about what it feels like to be protected. As Black women I don't think it is enough to talk about how unprotected we feel we must also speak to what makes us feel that protection from Black men, other Black women and the world as a whole. Join https://www.instagram.com/daily_delle as we talk about the problems and ways that we think we can solve them. Having these conversations in our communities is vital to preserving the relationships in the Black community and showing those outside of our communities how to show up for us as well.
