Finances on Purpose with Ryan Clark of Qube Money - Episode 206

Wouldn’t you love to get your finances in order? In this episode, host Ian Lobas discusses with Ryan Clark, founder of Qube Money, how to manage your money with purpose.

Ryan began his career in the real estate market, flipping five houses at the age of 18. Later, as a mortgage broker, he found that his true passion was teaching people about money.

He is the author of the book ‘The Order of Wealth’, which explains a simple process anyone can use to create and keep wealth.

As a financial planner for more than ten years, Ryan watched his clients fail at budgeting over and over again. He would recommend programs, but none of them seemed to stick. He saw some success with the traditional cash envelope budgeting system; however, they’d usually fall off the wagon when clients shopped online.

That’s what inspired him to take the cash envelope system and make it digital. Ryan launched Qube Money to provide better tools, systems, and training to clients, allowing them to work toward real financial freedom.

Positively Unstoppable: The Art Of Owning It with Diamond Dallas Page - Episode 205

Positively Unstoppable: The Art Of Owning It with Diamond Dallas Page - Episode 205

Diamond Dallas Page is an inspirational example of a life lived with purpose. In this episode, he proves that anything is possible with dedication, hard work and a laser focus on your dream. Host Ian Lobas uncovers the fascinating story of this famous professional wrestler turned fitness guru.

Diamond Dallas Page is a retired three-time WCW World Heavyweight Champ, World TV Champ, two-time US Champ, four-time Tag Team Champ, and with the WWF is a former European Champ and Tag Team Champ. In 2017, he was inducted in the WWE Hall of Fame.

For the first 42 years of his life, Dallas was a guy who "wouldn't be caught dead" doing yoga, or anything like it. When he ruptured his L4 and L5 spinal discs during the height of his professional wrestling career, he was so desperate to keep his childhood dream alive that he tried yoga and discovered its restorative effects.

He initially developed DDP Yoga for athletes like himself who had suffered years of injuries due to high-impact sports. This phenomenally successful program is now designed to help everyone who is deconditioned, or even immobile. DDP Yoga integrates yoga with rehabilitation techniques, calisthenics and dynamic resistance.

Dallas’ book ‘Positively Unstoppable’ is a blueprint to help people own their lives and their dreams. In his discussion with Ian, he talks about the impact of the stories you tell yourself, what he learned about fairweather friends from early in life and how, like Ian, he became an expert at healing his own body.

Expert Level Confidence with Dr. Aziz Gazipura - Episode 204

Expert Level Confidence with Dr. Aziz Gazipura - Episode 204

It’s time to own who you are! In this episode, host Ian Lobas discusses with Dr. Aziz Gazipura the freedom we enjoy when we choose to live with authentic confidence.

One of the world’s leading authorities on confidence, Dr. Aziz is a clinical psychologist who completed his doctoral training at Stanford and Palo Alto Universities. After struggling with social anxiety and shyness, he became determined to find a way to break free. Today, he is the founder of the Center for Social Confidence. He teaches people how to rapidly learn confidence so they can eliminate social anxiety and self-doubt, master conversations so they can show up authentically in every area of life and create deeply fulfilling relationships.

Ian and Dr. Aziz reveal how the web of stories we tell ourselves give us a sense of safety but disconnect us from ourselves. They take an in-depth look at the duality many people have between who they really are, which may be unknown, and a fight to keep up appearances, creating a vicious cycle.

How do you identify yourself, as an introvert or extrovert? Then you’ll want to listen to these experts’ discussion about the fluidity of these identities and the need to become curious about what truly fuels us.

Who am I? What do I value? What are the rules of my reality? What am I missing out on? You’ll find this episode prompts you to ask yourself these questions and more.

Dr. A, as he is affectionately known, is the founder of The Fit Father Project and The Fit Mother Project - the leading health and weight loss programs for busy men and women over 40.

In this episode, he explains the crucial role the gut plays in our entire life. Who knew that the gastrointestinal (GI) tract is such an important determinant of our overall physical and mental health?

Make Fear Your Tailwind Instead of a Headwind with Glenn Lobas and Ian Lobas - Episode 201

Make Fear Your Tailwind Instead of a Headwind with Glenn Lobas and Ian Lobas - Episode 201

Everybody has fear, it’s human nature, but you can learn to work with it and move beyond it to thrive in life and business. In this episode, Ian Lobas’ dad, Glenn, realizes the profound positive impact his entrepreneurial journey had on his son.

As Glenn reflects on the fears he overcame to become a successful entrepreneur, Ian recalls his own unique road to entrepreneurship.

They both agree that we’re not born with fear, we learn it and then tend to carry it with us in every sphere of our lives. They acknowledge the reality that fear will always be there but you can learn to deal with it, control it and turn it into something positive.

More importantly, they provide alternatives to going down the rabbit hole of dwelling on the notion that you screwed up yesterday and getting paralysed by worry about how you will pay the bills tomorrow.

Glenn recalls the concerned responses he got when he first told his wife and his neighbor he was going to start a business, at a time when his wife was in a full body cast after surgery and they had just bought a house and had a mortgage. His neighbor had asked if he was “nuts”.

For Glenn, the feeling that he just had to do it was more overwhelming than any fear he was experiencing. He warns emerging entrepreneurs not to be reckless. However, if after some soul searching, you find there is a burning desire within you, he advises you to lay out a plan and go for it, rather than wonder for the rest of your life what could have been.

Ian and his dad also discuss the importance of having the support of your significant other, who needs to have a growth mindset to be in step with you on your entrepreneurial journey.

They also discuss the challenges of picking the right business partner and many of the other lessons they’ve learned on the rollercoaster of entrepreneurship.

Some topics they discussed in this episode include:

21:04 - How to know if you’re really an entrepreneur

21:54 - Why it’s not easy to be an entrepreneur

34:57 - What to do even if you’re scared

    35:19 - Redefining failure

37:34 - How entrepreneurs can build a foundation of trust with their significant others

46:39 - The potential dangers of going into business with friends

50:52 - How to deal with the voice of fear

When you’re done listening, be sure to check out Ian’s discussion with his business partner Aaron Velky and hear more of Glenn’s fatherly advice as he and Ian discuss how to trust your inner voice.
