BEAUTY and Gratitude: Listening to the Silence and How Self-love Overcomes Anything with Gregory Landsman - Episode 237

BEAUTY and Gratitude: Listening to the Silence and How Self-love Overcomes Anything with Gregory Landsman - Episode 237

We haven’t had a guest like Gregory. A beauty and wellness expert and known for authoring numerous books and hosting TV shows. He took his experience and expertise in bio-health and wellness and took that into the realm of self-love and self-care. This is one of the most powerful episodes you can listen to, Gregory guides us with his calm voice into a world that anything can be overcome with self-love.

Throughout this episode, Gregory has expressed a recurring theme: to make our lives meaningful. That all starts with our inner beauty. Easier said than done, easier to scoff at too but self-love is a long-lost and much-needed art in this perpetually lost world. Too often, we’ve become used to managing chronic stress and as a result, we allow ourselves to be overcome by fear and worry.

We must learn to live from a place of gratitude. But how? When we can’t even accept who we are? If we aren’t satisfied with who we are, then how can we truly excel? This is the Beauty Gregory speaks of. Listen to your pain and heal from it. Because if you can’t feel it, you can’t heal it. Yes, we can give and help others this way, but we can only give what we have. And it all starts by loving ourselves.

From emotional maturity, allowing yourself to feel and Beauty. Let Gregory mesmerize you with his cadence and ease you into a state of self-love. You can’t ask for a better voice to deliver this message we all needed to hear.

Men on Purpose do not shy away from self-love. We are open to our feelings and open to healing. Join other men teaching self-love and check out these other episodes Episode 194 and Episode 201

Fearvana: Through Suffering Comes Our Greatest Growth & Gift with Akshay Nanavati - Episode 236

Fearvana: Through Suffering Comes Our Greatest Growth & Gift with Akshay Nanavati - Episode 236

This episode is all about suffering. What is our relationship with suffering? Society’s most common way to deal with suffering is a distraction, but this is merely a way to delay the inevitable: that there are dark days ahead. Denying this only renders us unprepared. This is why so many succumb to suffering that becomes anguish and results in untimely deaths that we have all witnessed so many times. Akshay helps us navigate through this and find meaning in suffering.

It’s almost like saying he holds our hands through suffering, but really we take this journey on our own. Our suffering is ours to overcome but even more than that, how much we suffer is entirely up to us. There is incredible courage to involuntarily put yourself in danger and even more to take that and condition yourself to embrace suffering. Because no suffering is too much to bear, no. Fortunately, we can condition ourselves to overcome all this death, suffering, and disease.

Every suffering has meaning but understandably, it is so hard to grasp that especially when we are in the thick of it. And Akshay has been in the thick of it all, from his PTSD to a near suicide and taking that suffering to now preparing for the first solo expedition in Antarctica. But even that preparation requires suffering. Akshay teaches us how to get to that point of developing a healthy relationship with your suffering and ultimately yourself.

Suffer well and suffer good then transcend.

Build a new better life with us. Join other men on purpose that move past their fear and create the life they desire. Check out these other episodes and find meaning in suffering, Everything Happens for a Reason and Make Fear Your Tailwind Instead of a Headwind.

Emotionally Damaged Parents & The Childhood Trauma It Brings with Justin Long - Episode 234

Emotionally Damaged Parents & The Childhood Trauma It Brings with Justin Long - Episode 234

This episode is all about breaking the cycle of parental childhood trauma. Many parents suffer catastrophic losses, traumas or even abuse at a very young age and subsequently go on to raise their own kids the same way, often with dire consequences. Mark speaks from personal experience and we can all relate to some degree, that even when we’ve forgiven the abuse, it is difficult to escape the cycle and it takes most men an entire lifetime to truly figure it all out.

This is a very strong attempt at making sense of emotional damage. Damage that caused many men to battle it out with their identity. Struggling with our masculine identity as a result of childhood trauma is something we all experience in some form. How we deal with it, and how it manifests into adulthood is something we are ultimately responsible for. But there is a lack of education on the topic. Ian and Mark go through it all, from the internal tools, to vulnerability, gender roles, and allowing yourself to feel.

The only thing more terrifying than living with emotional childhood wounds is allowing those experiences to negatively impact your future relationships. It’s time to talk about childhood trauma and how the impacts are not being addressed. Mark talks about how men should be more vulnerable, the ultimate message is for us to understand ourselves and be honest. When we make choices to be honest, we take control of our lives. The more self-aware we become, the stronger our decisions and actions can be. Only then can we begin to move forward.

In this episode, you will learn about

Fail Your Way To Your Mission with Angus Nelson - Episode 233

Fail Your Way To Your Mission with Angus Nelson - Episode 233

Men need each other. And it’s perhaps more important now than ever before. Today we have the tools and resources to feel and understand deeper. Tools that our forefathers did not have that have caused trauma and pain to be passed down. Angus joins us in this episode, as we seek purpose in incredible pain and changing for the better.

Angus has gone through it all. An unfulfilling career, a nasty divorce, and every hero complex imaginable to men. We are more than familiar with impulses that cause deep self-harm and for the longest time men didn’t know the reason behind them. Because of this, the life journey we take is filled with pain and anguish as a result of mistakes. And we did not know how to make sense of this, it never gets addressed, and the pain eventually manifests again. We repeat a cycle of failures simply because we did not know to address the root of it all: Who you really are.

For centuries, men were told to put their heads down, don’t feel, and just hustle. While this has helped build society, it has also caused generations of mentally and emotionally damaged men. We have an opportunity to ‘right’ this today. Never in our history did we ever get the chance to stop and look into managing our emotions. The expectations of hustle culture in men have caused these traumas to be passed down because we never got to address them, until today.

Angus offers a deeply personal journey that affirms a message that we all needed to hear a long time ago: It should all begin and start with Self-love.

In this episode, you will learn about

09:14 - Men need each other

12:28 - Men get messed up in divorce

18:35 - Getting married for the wrong reasons

20:35 - My identity was my performance

23:46 - Resetting identity, trauma, and your authentic self

30:00 - Giving ourselves permission to recognize our own greatness

32:34 - New truths about myself

36:59 - Cheating is a result of something not being present

46:05 - The suicide thought process and resetting life

50:56 - The damages of Hustle Culture

    1:01:12 - Self-love Action Steps!

1:05:38 - Morning Manifest, Affirmations and Principals
