It’s a talk show that moves between current events, politics, entertainment, philosophy, conspiracy theories and paranormal topics. Our sound is reminiscent of an era of analog broadcast intrusions, like the Max Headroom incident and the Captain Midnight HBO hijack. As the show develops, we plan to add open lines and live call-ins (just like Coast to Coast AM in the Art Bell days) so listeners can join in!

    This week on Midnight Hijack: the crew talks about their earliest memories of the internet, which quickly turns into a round of tech nostalgia and stories from the early online era. Jackie then revisits the Polybius myth and the many legends that grew around it. From there, the conversation moves to ASMR, unusual triggers, and why certain sounds affect people so differently. The episode closes with a discussion about controversial public figures, including Woody Allen and Michael Jackson.

    This week on Midnight Hijack: Mel talks about the myth of the black-eyed children, and Jackie brings up his childhood dream of becoming an ufologist. The crew then gets into Aachman’s suspicious archery lessons in the middle of the night, which somehow turns into a discussion of the best way to dispose of a body, with Jermo weighing in on guns. Jackie then has to drop out because of technical problems at his off-grid residence, and the second half of the show goes in a different direction with talk of cannibalism, geopolitical conflicts, and the most recent Donald Trump assassination attempt.

    This week on Midnight Hijack: the crew catches up on what has been going wrong and what has been going well, before Jackie spends some time going over a rough Friday evening. Aachman talks about being a Reddit moderator, which leads into a wider discussion about Reddit mods, freedom of speech, and how online conversations get managed. From there, the episode moves into Aachman’s usual conspiracy segment, Jackie’s trademark complaints about younger people getting dumber, and a few side conversations about iPhone differences.

Aachman takes the conspiracy slot with a deep dive into reports of elites building underground bunkers for worst-case scenarios. The episode closes with a straight debate on AI and AGI — how far it can go and which human abilities, if any, are truly universal.

Then we spend time on a debate around Chris Brown and Kobe Bryant, and a bigger question underneath these names: why certain public figures get singled out for permanent outrage, what “cancelled” even means anymore, and whether people should be allowed to screw up and still have a career. And we end with a small, ridiculous story out of England: a man arrested after spitting out a leaf that blew into his mouth.

    This week on Midnight Hijack: Jackie vents about awards-season nonsense (Grammys, Golden Globes) and the upcoming Bad Bunny Super Bowl performance, plus the Bill Maher Golden Globes blowback over not wearing a “Be Good” pin. Mel and Aachman get into the latest Epstein-file chatter and the way it’s reopened QAnon/Pizzagate arguments, including Jim Breuer's take that more is still coming. Aachman goes deeper down the rabbit hole with 4chan-style theories, including the “Charlie Kirk was predicted by a Nicolas Cage movie” thread. And Jermo brings on the first official Midnight Hijack guest, Brummie, to talk life across the UK, the US, and Malaysia, and the cultural differences between these different places.

Melyssa opens up about a past history of being pen pals with dangerous criminals, as well as dealing with weird stalkers... + We talk about our favorite breakfast hot drinks, vegetarianism in India vs the rest of the world, kratom, sugar and dieting, and finally the complicated art of enjoying controversial artists and preferring down-to-earth celebrities.
