The Mike Drop podcast is hosted by former Navy SEAL, Mike Ritland. It is a not so politically correct discussion of wide ranging topics that span from government, politics and war to health and fitness, from guns and survival skills to food and nutrition with music, BBQ and a touch of everything else in between. This is THE platform that is completely raw, totally unfiltered and in your face, while still intellectually sound with good intuitive dialogue between A-holes that know what they’re talking about.

Episode 62: Angel Cortes - Gang Signs & Ranger Tabs

Episode 62: Angel Cortes - Gang Signs & Ranger Tabs

I talk a lot about maximizing opportunity as I believe there is no shortage of it in this country. This episode is a prime example of it. I sat down with Angel Cortes - former L.A. gang banger turned Army Ranger, and now studying to be a registered dietician to help the type of communities from which he came from. Lots of great insight into immigration policy as well as rising up in the face of abject poverty and adversity.

Episode 61: Matt Hanson - Running with Ironman

Episode 61: Matt Hanson - Running with Ironman

The Ironman race... 2.4 mile swim, 112 mile bike, 26.2 mile run. A ridiculous feat of preparation, endurance, and mental toughness. To not only finish, but to be a 3 time North American champion and shatter numerous course records around the world is on a different level. I had the pleasure of sitting down with Matt Hanson who accomplished just that, and asked him all about what that’s like at that magnitude. I was always a big fan of triathlons growing up, and this episode I had a lot of questions and desired insight into the mind of someone who has competed at that level. From bike crashes to shitting yourself, we get into what it really takes to push yourself way past what you thought was possible.

Episode 60: Yousef Badou - Identifying the Threat with Emergence Disrupt

Episode 60: Yousef Badou - Identifying the Threat with Emergence Disrupt

Born in Kuwait and baring witness to the gulf war Iraqi invasion of his home country, Yousef Badou grew up around the kind of violence that made him want to combat it as he got older. After serving several combat tours as a U.S. Marine, he took part in a special project to train and teach other war fighters to be able to assess and predict violence through body language and context. I had the pleasure of sitting down him to discuss all things related, and of course tie in the parallels of dogs.

Episode 59: Nick Irving & Remi Adeleke - Police, Protests, and George Floyd

Episode 59: Nick Irving & Remi Adeleke - Police, Protests, and George Floyd

The last few weeks have been some trying times in our nation, to say the least. I wanted to bring two former guests on with as relevant of a perspective as I could think of to both shed some light from their perspective as well as give mine, while having a healthy and necessary discussion. This episode I had the honor of having former SEAL Remi Adeleke and former Army Ranger Nick Irving discuss all things race-related for our country. I hope that those who listen, do so you understand and not respond or confirm. Starting by respecting one another, and truly trying to understand the others perspective is the key to moving forward and coming together.

Episode 58: Will Chesney - Navy Seal Dog Handler & Author of 'No Ordinary Dog'

Episode 58: Will Chesney - Navy Seal Dog Handler & Author of 'No Ordinary Dog'

The most famous mission in modern history, a bad ass K9 that accompanied the SEAL team that conducted it, and the operator/handler that took K9 Cairo on that mission. That, ladies and gentlemen, is the latest Mike Drop episode. I had the honor of sitting down with @willcheeese, author of @noordinarydogbook, to talk about all things Operation Neptune Spear to take down the worlds most wanted man - Osama Bin Laden.
