Special Warfare Pipelines - CONES Survival Guide
Ryan walks through 15 Tips to be successful in the Training Pipeline (or any goals you have) - provided by those who have already graduated a Special Warfare Pipeline, as well as some CONES currently in the Pipeline. See below, and enjoy!
1. Have thick Skin … be prepared to fail often and bounce back.
2. From failure comes clarity… use it to push yourself harder and succeed.
3. Have courage for the long haul... it’s a marathon not a sprint
4. Don’t get injured!
5. Don’t over train – especially on Rucks … Allow proper Recovery Time
6. Ice bath if possible
7. Its Individual Achievement, with Team Support. Follow Instructions and WORK
8. Focus on being the best teammate, not the best performer. Do study groups so your team rises together.
9. Do your research, know what you’re getting into and enjoy every moment because you prepared.
10. Get in to AFSW chats, groups, or communities in order to start connecting with others with similar goals.
11. When it gets hard, just tell yourself to make it to the next meal.
12. Focus what’s in front of you, not the future
13. Go in having a WHY … You joined for a purpose … never forget it and use it to fuel your morale on rough days.
14. Be coachable and remember that the job is worth it
15. Be fit, leave your ego at the door, stay humble… play the game!

Be Bold In Your Faith
Ryan McCary has an incredible ability to use stories about relatively niche aspects of his life (such as being a TACPO/JTAC) as tools in order to help guide fellow men toward Jesus. If you’re interested in AFSPECWAR in general and TACP specifically, there’s a wealth of knowledge in this podcast to help you prepare for the rigors of such a demanding career field. If you’re a father challenging yourself to balance the stress of work with your charge to love your family as Christ loves the Church, there’s plenty of discussion between Ryan and his various guests about some hard topics. But most importantly, Milspec Believer is a repository of wisdom for men of God looking to grow closer to Him by being bold in our faith. If you have questions about or can relate to anything mentioned here, then this podcast is for you.

I always look forward to new episodes of this show! The way Ryan weaves his journey as a TACP in the USAF with lessons from his faith is very well done and inspiring. He’s also had some top-notch guests on the show lately that bring their own unique experiences and perspectives to the table. As a military member it can be hard to relate to others who don’t know what it’s like, but Mil Spec Believer is a must-listen because Ryan walks that walk every single day.
