234: We need a COVID reality check | David Katz, M.D.

234: We need a COVID reality check | David Katz, M.D.

The loss we're experiencing is heartbreaking. Not to mention, we're acutely aware that the virus is disproportionately affecting impoverished and BIPOC communities. And yet, COVID-19 has become a pandemic of polarization with very little conversation in the sensible middle. Rather than coming together as a society, as a country, and more specifically as a wellness community, so many have taken the path of extremes when it comes to COVID-19.
But no matter which side you’re on, preventative medicine specialist, David Katz, MD, believes it’s time for a COVID reality check.
On this episode, Katz joins mbg co-CEO, Jason Wachob, to discuss how we can reach middle ground (and why we should) when it comes to the coronavirus, plus:
*Herd immunity & why there's no such thing as a zero-risk scenario*
*Why there's no better time for a "get healthy" campaign*
*Why we shouldn't wait for a vaccine before going back to the world*
*Why you might have native resistance to COVID-19*
*How mainstream media perpetuates our fear*

Wow

Did this doctor on the COVID podcast really just say “routinely mild for younger people”? So why do we believe him over alllllll the other doctors talking about young people having strokes, potentially developing heart conditions, etc? The host is one of the most self absorbed entitled people I have heard online- address your privilege and stop using the word “minorities” to seem like you care without taking any steps. Say who this virus is affecting disproportionately- Black, brown, and indigenous people, undocumented workers, and incarcerated people. Have some chutzpah and use your platform to create a movement forward, not one that continues to keep you comfortable.

I'm hooked on you, ,

Thank you!

I completely trust the information that is shared through your podcast. Thank you. I listen every week!
