How I Decide If an ADHD Tool Is Actually Working

How do you know if your ADHD planner, app, reminder system, or productivity tool is actually working—or if you're just still excited because it's new? In this episode of Mindful Chatting with MCS, we're talking about why people with ADHD can get stuck constantly switching systems and how to evaluate the tools you already have before starting over. I'll walk you through my ADHD Tool Test™: Job, Friction, Visibility, Follow-Through, and Real Use so you can identify whether the tool is actually the problem—or whether you're asking it to solve the wrong executive-functioning challenge. We'll also talk about planner hopping, notification blindness, overly complicated productivity systems, low-capacity days, and why the best ADHD tool is often the one you actually return to. https://linktr.ee/mindfulchatting 👉 Try Brain.fm for focus and calm. Why Do We Struggle to See Women as Both Sexual and Worthy of Respect?

What is the Madonna-whore complex, and does this century-old Freudian concept still tell us anything useful about modern relationships? In this episode of Thoughtful Thursday, we explore Freud's original idea about separating affection and sexual desire—and then move beyond Freud to examine contemporary research on the Madonna-whore dichotomy, sexual double standards, women's sexual pleasure, shame, relationships, and internalized beliefs about what makes a “good woman.” We discuss: • The Madonna-whore complex in psychology • Freud and psychoanalytic theory • Sexual desire versus emotional intimacy • Sexual double standards • “Good girl” identity and sexual shame • Women's sexual agency and pleasure • Motherhood, relationships, and erotic identity • Internalized sexism • Integrating sexuality, love, respect, and identity The bigger question isn't whether Freud was right. It's why women are still so often asked to choose between being respected and sexual. https://linktr.ee/mindfulchatting 👉 Try Brain.fm for focus and calm. ADHD & Your Menstrual Cycle: Why Focus, Energy and Motivation Can Change

Does your ADHD seem dramatically easier some weeks—and much harder during others? Emerging research suggests that reproductive hormone fluctuations may be associated with changes in ADHD symptoms, cognition, mood, and executive functioning for some women, although research in this area is still developing. In this episode of Thoughtful Thursday, we explore ADHD and the menstrual cycle without turning hormonal awareness into another rigid productivity rulebook. You’ll learn about: • ADHD and menstrual-cycle symptom changes • Hormones and executive functioning • Premenstrual ADHD symptom worsening • Energy versus motivation • ADHD capacity planning • The Cycle Capacity Check™ • Tracking patterns without rigid “cycle syncing” • When significant cyclical symptoms may deserve medical attention If you’ve ever wondered why the same routine feels easy one week and nearly impossible the next, this episode may help you replace self-judgment with useful information. #ADHDWomen #Hormones #MenstrualCycle #ExecutiveFunction #ThoughtfulThursday https://linktr.ee/mindfulchatting 👉 Try Brain.fm for focus and calm. Your ADHD Brain Doesn’t Need a Better To-Do List: The 4C Planning System

Why do ADHD planning systems work for a few weeks—and then completely disappear? The problem may not be your planner. It may be that your planning system is missing a process for moving information from thought → action → time → review. In this episode of Mindful Chatting with MCS, I’m teaching my 4C Planning System™: Capture, Clarify, Calendar, and Come Back. You’ll learn: • How to capture ADHD thoughts without relying on working memory • Why writing something down isn’t the same as planning it • How vague tasks contribute to procrastination and overwhelm • How to clarify the next actionable step • Why tasks need realistic time and space • How calendar anchors support ADHD time management • Why every ADHD planning system needs a built-in return point • How physical planners, digital calendars, reminders, and capture tools can work together If you’ve tried planners, apps, lists, and productivity systems but still struggle with ADHD organization and follow-through, this episode will help you identify where your planning process may actually be breaking down. https://linktr.ee/mindfulchatting 👉 Try Brain.fm for focus and calm.
