    Mindful Corner: Discussing PTSD

    In this episode, Sofia and Anna discuss PTSD in light of the anniversary of the April 17th tragedy at FSU, and a desire to shed light on this disorder. This includes structured therapies like trauma-focused CBT,Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), and Prolonged Exposure (PE). These approaches help you process what happened, reduce avoidance, and shift beliefs that got stuck after trauma.EMDR. Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is another evidence-based therapy that helps some people reprocess traumatic memories so they feel less intense and less present.Skills-based support. Some people start with stabilization and skills: grounding, emotion regulation, and body-based strategies. This can be especially important when you feel easily overwhelmed.Medication.
