    Miscellaneous Conflicts

This episode puts an emphasis on our two most infamous yappers, Raquel and Violet! Some may know this show as, "Violet and the Others" or "Raquel and Friends." On this episode we asked our yappers about conflict resolution. If we as a society want to move forward amicably, then it is imperative to know how our future generation handles a variety of issues. I also thought that it would be interesting to compare and contrast how adults and children handle problems, and to see if any negotiating strategies have changed over the years.  One layer of conflict resolution that we talked about was tone. Tone is very important when trying to resolve a problem because if an aggresive tone is taken, the person being spoken to is imediately going to get defensive and may be less willing to hear you out. I also did my absolute best to try to try to get these kids to try to take any level of accountability. When in a conflict it is so hard for us to realize that it is us that likely have some blame as to how we got into this situation in the first place. It is far harder for us to see the wrong in ourselves, now you can imagine how much harder it can be dealing with people under the age of thirteen.  It is important to see how the future generation will react to intense emotions for others and themselves. We all can work wonders if we all aim to respond and not react. That goes for anybody of any age.  How do you deal with confrontation? You want your children to be able to stand up for themselves but you also want them to realize when it's important to walk away.  The most important aspect conflict resolution is putting yourself in the other person's shoes. How would you feel if you were them? How would you react if you were them? Is how they feel justified? We also touched on Zodiac signs and Middle School Goal.  We have the wonderful Tinara as a stupendous addition to this show. She is by far one of my favorite students and in listening to this episode, you'll know why.  Thanks again to anyone who has liked, shared or listened to even a second of the Miscellaneous Yappers.  The season finale will be out soon. The One... The Only... The Stupendous... Noni Murphy

We're not done yapping yet!! Thank you to all the supporting yappers out there. On this episode we had the extraordinary Violet focus her journalistic skills on a member of our Admin Staff here at M.S. 158.  The wonderful Noni Murphy, once a counselor, used her social skills, ability to connect and emphathize with the youth that attend our program, and her social work expertise to climb the ranks in being our Outreach Coordinator. With her promotion, she has never felt "too good" to show her face to the kids and make her presence apparent. She is always readily available to give any child what they need, and in doing so the kids show their love and appreciation ever time they see her smiling face. She is one of the reasons why we are one of the top ranked Beacon programs in New York City. She is the epitome of what and who you want in a counselor. The infectious personality of one of our favorite yappers in Violet and Noni's uplifting spirit is sure to make a us a quality episode.  And it did.  We asked Ms. Murphy a wide range of questions such as: who is her favorite group, who is her favorite counselor, what was her highlight of the summer, her favorite food, and which kids she thinks is best for potentially being a counselor down the line. When it comes to her favorite food, the big backs will love her answer. Violet also teaches me the correct way to pronounce texture.  Violet and the World's Best Counselor known as Glassford have had quite the unique friendship. We go in depth on our ups and downs and both came to a peaceful conclusion, but....... you'll have to listen to the episode to know how that went. Thank you all, and God bless you.

    Miscellaneous Influence

Welcome back Yapees and Yapettes. One of today's Miscellaneous topics is influence, who is influencing our youth? What celebrities are the future generation looking up to? We all wanted to be like somebod growing up, and it is our responsibility to make sure that the future want to end up like the right people. We also yapped about ways to improve our wonderful school M.S. 158, how we manage stress, how we take care of our health, the pwoer of AI and technology, what rizz is, and if you have any rizz. We also delved into what their bedtimes are and compared it to our bedtimes at that age, the stupendous Billy shows off his intellect and report card. He even tries to correct me on the "right" way to say characteristics. This is Billy's first episode and he was a wonderful addition. In order for our children to learn it is vital for their teachers to deliver their lessons in a way that resonates with the students. On this episode we asked our yappers what are some of the traits they think is beneficial for their teachers to have.  Although all of the kids on the show for the most part are going to the 7th grade this fall, they are wise beyond their years. Having said that, at times I like to ask deeper questions that I would ask an adult to compare and contrast the answers.  This question was: What is one thing that you would change about the world? I think a question like this speaks to the character of our children and gives them a chance to express some of the future generation's concerns.  Make sure you share this episode with someone you know would benefit from listening to it, thank you and have an amazing day.
