    Misconceptions About Introversion & Extraversion

    This is an episode that is a bit random since it came about from a frustrating discussion I keep having with my partner about introversion and extraversion and whether that can be used to type people correctly. Based on Union analytical psychology and the typology that I follow, introversion and extraversion are simply attitudes used to describe cognitive functions that we use which we all used differently based on our cognitive function stack. I thought that this was relevant since I am currently doing a season on describing the differences in the attitudes of the cognitive functions.     Types and Intelligence

    In the personality community there’s a lot of bias and superiority cluttering the message boards and forums of each type. Many people consider their type to be superior to others or assume that a preference for thinking automatically implies a preference for knowledge and intelligence. Today I want to talk about intelligence; the different kinds of intelligence that exist and which types are skilled in those different areas of intelligence. My hope is that this article will showcase some of the strengths of each type, and will also allow us to have a fuller appreciation of each type’s gifts, abilities, and talents.

    Intuition Vs Sensing (N vs S)

    You use Sensing (S) and Intuition (N) to receive and process new information either by using your five senses or in more abstract ways. Sensing and Intuition are opposite preferences. A person's natural tendency toward one will be stronger than the other. ... Females are on average slightly more Sensing than males. In Myers & Briggs' personality typing, the Sensing/Intuition dichotomy describes how a person takes in information. Sensing Types Sensors pay attention to their most immediate impressions; the "raw data" that they can see, hear and touch. They create meaning out of concrete information and rely heavily on past experiences to guide their future behavior. People with this preference are practical and active. They like to live in the here and now. Sensors like concrete tasks and tend to pursue things in a linear sequence. At work, they will make an effort to understand expectations and like to use their proven skills to solve immediate problems. Sensors like to work on something with a clear result or product, and experience dissatisfaction with open-ended or overly abstract tasks. People with a Sensing preference work well with details, and are happy to dig into the nitty-gritty of a situation. They follow and communicate information in a step-by-step fashion, and they appreciate the value of realism and common sense. Intuitive Types Intuitives pay attention to their intuition, instinct, and ability to draw meaning from seemingly disconnected facts. They are good at reading between the lines and recognizing connections between random groups of facts. People with this preference are abstract and theoretical. They worry about the future more than the present, and plan to change the world rather than simply live in it. Intuitives are interested in everything that is unusual and new and chafe at routine. Ideas inspire them, and they are more likely to focus on the theory than the practice of a project. They enjoy learning over doing and may get bored with repetitive projects that do not engage their creativity. Intuitives take a high-level view and may experience dissatisfaction when attention to detail is required. People with an Intuition preference doubt and test everything. They value innovation and imagination, and present information in a roundabout way through leaps of association and figures of speech.

    What Makes You You

    A fun and informative deep dive into the cognitive functions we use to learn and to make decisions. Based on a model first introduced by Carl Jung over 100 years ago then later adapted into a model now known as the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI). In this podcast, the simplifies these rather complex psychological functions into easily understood holistic ideas and does so in a fun and engaging way. Angelica doesn't only utilize Myers-Briggs to discuss personality archetypes, but also combines her knowledge of NLP (Neuro-linguistic programming) socionics and social engineering to give you a ton of useful tools and systems to better understand yourself and the people around you. Listening to this podcast will help you understand what makes you unique, where your natural strengths lie and how best to minimize your natural blind spots. Only by bringing to light what was previously unconscious can we beginbto own and take control of it. This information can be turned into powerful tools for anything from career planning, to choosing the right romantic partner with whom you are compatible with, to solving conflicts in teams and demonstrates how this knowledge can be used to social engineer people, companies, communities or even an entire nation.
